1. सिखों के आठवें गुरु:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1656 में सिखों के आठवें गुरु हर किशन का जन्म कीरतपुर साहिब में हुआ था. उनके पिता सिख धर्म के सातवें गुरु, गुरु हरि राय जी थे और उनकी माता का नाम किशन कौर था. बचपन से ही गुरु हर किशन जी बहुत ही गंभीर और सहनशील प्रवृत्ति के थे. वे 5 वर्ष की उम्र में भी आध्यात्मिक साधना में लीन रहते थे. गुरु हरराय जी ने वर्ष 1661 में गुरु हर किशन जी को आठवीं पाद शाही गुरु के रूप में सौंपी. बहुत ही कम समय में गुरु हर किशन साहिब जी ने सामान्य जनता के साथ अपने मित्रतापूर्ण व्यवहार से राजधानी में लोगों में लोकप्रियता हासिल की. मुग़ल राज जनता के प्रति असंवेदनशील था. जात-पात एवं ऊंच नीच को दरकिनार करते हुए गुरु साहिब ने सभी भारतीय जनों की सेवा का अभियान चलाया. ख़ासकर दिल्ली में रहने वाले मुस्लिम उनकी इस मानवता की सेवा से बहुत प्रभावित हुए एवं वो उन्हें ‘बाला पीर’ कहकर पुकारने लगे.
2. दोबारा ताजपोशी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1763 में मीर जाफर को बंगाल के नवाब के रूप में दोबारा ताजपोशी हुई थी.
3. लाहौर पर कब्जा किया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1799 में महाराजा रणजीत सिंह ने लाहौर पर कब्जा किया था.
4. स्वतंत्रता सेनानी मोहम्मद बरकतउल्ला:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1854 में मोहम्मद बरकतउल्ला का जन्म भोपाल में हुआ था. इनको अब्दुल हाफ़िज़ मोहम्मद बरकतउल्ला तथा मौलाना बरकतुल्ला के नाम से भी जाना जाता है. मौलाना ने भोपाल के सुलेमानिया स्कूल से अरबी, फ़ारसी की माध्यमिक और उच्च शिक्षा प्राप्त की थी तथा भोपाल से हाई स्कूल तक की अंग्रेज़ी शिक्षा भी हासिल की. शिक्षा के दौरान ही उसे उच्च शिक्षित अनुभवी मौलवियों, विद्वानों को मिलने और उनके विचारों को जानने का मौका मिला. शिक्षा ख़त्म करने के बाद वह उसी स्कूल में अध्यापक नियुक्त हो गया.
5. व्यंगकार चन्द्रधर शर्मा ‘गुलेरी’: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1854 में हिन्दी के कथाकार, व्यंगकार तथा निबन्धकार चन्द्रधर शर्मा ‘गुलेरी’ का जन्म राजस्थान की वर्तमान राजधानी जयपुर में हुआ था. उनके पिता पंडित शिवराम शास्त्री मूलतः हिमाचल प्रदेश के गुलेर गाँव के निवासी थे. चंद्रधर को घर में ही संस्कृत भाषा, वेद, पुराण आदि के अध्ययन, पूजा-पाठ, संध्या-वंदन तथा धार्मिक कर्मकाण्ड का वातावरण मिला. आगे की पढ़ाई के लिए वे इलाहाबाद आ गए जहाँ प्रयाग विश्वविद्यालय से बी. ए. किया. उन्होंने कलकत्ता विश्वविद्यालय से एम. ए. किया. बीस वर्ष की उम्र के पहले ही उन्हें जयपुर की वेधशाला के जीर्णोद्धार तथा उससे सम्बन्धित शोधकार्य के लिए गठित मण्डल में चुन लिया गया था और कैप्टन गैरेट के साथ मिलकर उन्होंने “द जयपुर ऑब्ज़रवेटरी एण्ड इट्स बिल्डर्स” शीर्षक अंग्रेज़ी ग्रन्थ की रचना की.
6. क्रांतिकारी रणधीर सिंह:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1878 में क्रांतिकारी रणधीर सिंह का जन्म पंजाब के लुढ़ियाना ज़िले में हुआ था. उन्होंने लाहौर के क्रिश्चियन कॉलेज में शिक्षा पाई. उनकी सशस्त लेखनी और काव्य प्रतिभा से इस आंदोलन को बड़ा बल मिला. अध्ययन के द्वारा उन्होंने सिख जीवन दर्शन का गहन ज्ञान प्राप्त किया. आजीविका के लिए रणधीर सिंह ने कुछ वर्ष तहसीलदार के रूप में काम किया और उसके बाद खालसा कॉलेज अमृतसर में अध्यापक बन गए. वे अस्पृश्यता के विरोधी और महिलाओं के अधिकारों के पक्षधर थे.
7. पहली बार फिल्मों का प्रदर्शन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1896 में मुंबई के वाटसन होटल में पहली बार फिल्मों का प्रदर्शन ल्यूमिर बंधुओं ने किया था.
8. राजनीतिज्ञ काला वेंकटराव:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1900 में दक्षिण भारत के राजनीतिज्ञ काला वेंकटराव का जन्म हुआ था.
9. संगीतकार अनिल बिस्वास:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1914 में संगीतकार अनिल बिस्वास का जन्म पूर्वी बंगाल में हुआ था, जो अब बांग्लादेश है. वे स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में भी शामिल हुए और बंगाल के महान् कवि और संगीतकार काज़ी नज़रुल इस्लाम के भी संपर्क में रहे. वे काफ़ी कम उम्र में कोलकाता चले आए और उसके बाद वहाँ से वर्ष 1934 में मुंबई चले गए. मुंबई की फ़िल्मी दुनिया में आकर उन्होंने देखा कि यहाँ तो हर प्रांत का संगीत मौजूद है. ‘दिल जलता है तो जलने दे…’ से मुकेश ने अपने करियर की शुरूआत की और उसके बाद अनेक हिट गाने गए. अनिल बिस्वास को हिंदी फ़िल्म संगीत में पहली बार ऑर्केस्ट्रा का इस्तेमाल करने का श्रेय भी दिया जाता है. वर्ष 1949 में उन्होंने तलत महमूद से आरज़ू फ़िल्म में पहली बार गाना गवाया जो सुपरहिट रहा–‘ऐ दिल मुझे ऐसी जगह ले चल…
10. अभिनेता चंद्रशेखर वैद्य:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1922 में अभिनेता चंद्रशेखर वैद्य का जन्म हैदराबाद में हुआ था. उनके पिता सरकारी अस्पताल में डॉक्टर थे. चंद्रशेखर जब छोटे थे, तब उनकी मां गुजर गई. इसके बाद पिता ने दूसरी शादी कर ली. उनकी सौतेली मां इनसे छोटी थी. चंद्रशेखर वैद्य को आर्थिक तंगी के कारण स्कूल छोड़ना पड़ा. वर्ष 1940 में वह अपनी दादी के साथ बैंगलोर चले गए. एक वक्त ऐसा भी आया, जब उन्होंने चौकीदार का भी काम किया. वर्ष 1942 में भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन का हिस्सा भी बने. चंद्रशेखर कुछ वक्त जूनियर आर्टिस्ट काम करने के बाद मुंबई छोड़कर पुणे में बतौर सिंगर काम किया. चंद्रशेखर ने अपने कैरियर की शुरुआत फिल्म ‘बेबस’ से किया था.
11. राजनीतिज्ञ ठाकुर राम लाल:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1929 में कांग्रेस नेता ठाकुर राम लाल का जन्म गांव बरथाटा, तहसील जुब्बल, ज़िला शिमला में पैदा हुए थे.
12. राघवजी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1934 में भारतीय जनता पार्टी के नेता राघवजी का जन्म विदिशा, मध्य प्रदेश में हुआ था. अपनी शिक्षा के अंतर्गत उन्होंने एम.कॉम तथा एल.एल.बी. की डिग्रियाँ प्राप्त कीं. राघवजी ने अपनी शिक्षा पूर्ण करने के बाद वकालत का पेशा अपनाया. मध्य प्रदेश की राजनीति में इनका महत्त्वपूर्ण स्थान है. राघवजी मध्य प्रदेश राज्य के वित्तमंत्री हैं. वह विदिशा से मध्य प्रदेश विधान सभा के सदस्य हैं. राघवजी लोकसभा और राज्यसभा के भी सदस्य रह चुके हैं. वे छठी लोकसभा और नौवीं लोकसभा सांसद के सदस्य थे.
13. गुजरात के पूर्व राज्यपाल अंशुमान सिंह:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1935 में राजस्थान और गुजरात के पूर्व राज्यपाल एवं पूर्व न्यायमूर्ति अंशुमान सिंह का जन्म हुआ था.
14. राजनीतिज्ञ मनोहर कांत ध्यानी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1942 में राजनीतिज्ञ मनोहर कांत ध्यानी का जन्म राणाकोट, ज़िला पौड़ी गढ़वाल, उत्तराखंड में हुआ था.
15. बोस को सौंपी:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1943 में रास बिहारी बोस ने आजाद हिंद फौज की कमान नेता जी सुभाष चंद्र बोस को सौंपी थी.
16. दामोदर घाटी निगम की स्थापना:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1948 में स्वतंत्र भारत की पहली बहुउद्देशीय परियोजना दामोदर घाटी निगम की स्थापना हुई थी. यह नदी घाटी परियोजना झारखंड की प्रमुख नदी दामोदर नदी पर बनाई गई थी. इस परियोजना के अंतर्गत 8 बड़े बांध, एक अवरोधक बांध, 06 जल विद्युत गृह, तीन ताप विद्युत गृह का निर्माण किया गया है. इस परियोजना से 12000 मेगावाट बिजली का उत्पादन किया जाता है साथ ही 08 लाख हेक्टेयर क्षेत्र में सिंचाई भी की जाती है.
17. साहित्यकार माधवी सरदेसाई:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1962 में साहित्यकार माधवी सरदेसाई का लिस्बान, पुर्तग़ाल में हुआ था. सरदेसाई ने अपनी स्कुली शिक्षा कोकणी माध्याम से की थी. उन्होंने चौगुले कॉलेज मारगाओ से अंग्रेजी और दर्शनशास्त्र में स्त्रातक किया. उन्होंने भाषा विज्ञान में एम. ए. किया है. माधवी सरदेसाई ने गोवा विश्वाविदयालय से पी. एच. डी. की. उन्होंने कोंकणी भाषा, साहित्य और भाषा विज्ञान पर महत्वपूर्ण कार्य किया. इसके साथ ही उन्होंने कविताओं, लघु कथाओं, शोध पत्रों में भी अपना योगदान दिया. महिला साहित्यकार माधवी जो कोंकणी साहित्यिक जर्नल ‘जाग’ की संपादक थीं.
18. क्रिकेटर महेन्द्र सिंह धोनी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1962 में क्रिकेटर महेन्द्र सिंह धोनी का जन्म झारखण्ड के रांची में एक मध्यम वर्गीय परिवार में हुआ. उनके पिता का नाम पान सिंह व माता देवकी देवी है. क्रिकेट के इतिहास में सबसे महान कप्तान विकेट कीपर-बल्लेबाज और फिनिशर में से एक माने जाते है. धोनी दाएं हाथ के विकेटकीपर-बल्लेबाज के रूप में खेलते हैं और अपनी शांत कप्तानी और तंग परिस्थितियों में मैच खत्म करने की क्षमता के लिए जाने जाते हैं.
19. मिज़ोरम के मुख्यमंत्री लालडेंगा:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1990 में मिज़ोरम के मुख्यमंत्री लालडेंगा का निधन हुआ था.
20. सर्वाधिक प्रशंसित व्यक्ति सम्मान:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1998 में पं. विश्वमोहन भट्ट को सं.रा. अमेरिका का प्रतिष्ठित दशाब्दी का सर्वाधिक प्रशंसित व्यक्ति सम्मान मिला था.
21. रिकार्ड साझेदारी:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1998 में वनडे-क्रिकेट में टीम इंडिया की सलामी जोड़ी सचिन तेंदुलकर और सौरभ गांगुली ने पहले विकेट के लिये 252 रनों की रिकार्ड साझेदारी की थी.
22. सैनिक विक्रम बत्रा:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1999 में भारत के सैनिक विक्रम बत्रा को मरणोपरांत ‘परम वीर चक्र’ से सम्मानित किया गया था.
23. सैन्य अधिकारी अनुज नय्यर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1999 में भारत के सैन्य अधिकारी अनुज नय्यर को मरणोपरांत सर्वोच्च वीरता पुरस्कार ‘महावीर चक्र’ से सम्मानित किया गया था.
24. रजत पदक जीतने वाले मुक्केबाज़ सागर अहलावत:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2000 में सागर अहलावत का जन्म हुआ था. बताते चलें कि, सागर अहलावत ने राष्ट्रमंडल खेल 2022 में भारत के लिये रजत पदक जीता था.
25. नेत्र विज्ञानी गोविन्दप्प वेङ्कटस्वामि:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2006 में नेत्र विज्ञानी गोविन्दप्प वेङ्कटस्वामि का निधन हुआ था.
26. भारतीय दूतावास पर हमला:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2008 में काबुल (अफ़ग़ानिस्तान) में हुए भारतीय दूतावास पर हमले में 41 लोग मारे गये थे.
27. लेखक व शायर अब्दुल क़ावी देसनावी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2011 में उर्दू भाषा के लेखक व शायर अब्दुल क़ावी देसनावी का निधन हुआ था.
28. मदन लाल मधु:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2014 में हिंदी और रूसी साहित्य के आधुनिक सेतु निर्माताओं में से एक मदन लाल मधु का निधन हुआ था.
29. अभिनेता दिलीप कुमार:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2021 में हिन्दी सिनेमा के अभिनेता व राज्य सभा के पूर्व सदस्य दिलीप कुमार का निधन हुआ था.

1. Eighth Guru of Sikhs:- On this day in the year 1656, Har Kishan, the eighth Guru of Sikhs, was born in Kiratpur Sahib. His father was the seventh Guru of Sikhism, Guru Hari Rai Ji, and his mother’s name was Kishan Kaur. From childhood, Guru Har Kishan Ji was very serious and tolerant. He was engrossed in spiritual practice even at the age of 5. In the year 1661, Guru Har Rai Ji handed over the eighth pada to Guru Har Kishan Ji as the royal Guru. Within a very short span of time, Guru Har Kishan Sahib Ji gained popularity among the people in the capital by his friendly behavior toward the general public. Mughal Raj was insensitive towards the public. Ignoring caste and high and low, Guru Sahib launched a campaign to serve all Indians. Especially the Muslims living in Delhi were very impressed by his service to humanity and they started calling him ‘Bala Peer’.
2. Re-coronation: – On this day in the year 1763, Mir Jafar was re-coroned as the Nawab of Bengal.
3. Captured Lahore: – On this day in the year 1799, Maharaja Ranjit Singh captured Lahore.
4. Freedom Fighter Mohammad Barkatullah:- On this day in the year 1854, Mohammad Barkatullah was born in Bhopal. He is also known as Abdul Hafiz Mohammad Barkatullah and Maulana Barkatullah. Maulana had received secondary and higher education in Arabic, and Farsi from Bhopal’s Sulaimania School, and also received English education from Bhopal to high school. It was during his education that he got an opportunity to meet highly educated experienced clerics, and scholars and to know their views. After completing his education, he got appointed as a teacher in the same school.
5. Satirist Chandradhar Sharma ‘Guleri’: – On this day in the year 1854, Hindi story writer, satirist, and essayist Chandradhar Sharma ‘Guleri’ was born in Jaipur, the present capital of Rajasthan. His father Pandit Shivram Shastri was originally a resident of Guler village in Himachal Pradesh. Chandradhar got the atmosphere of studying of Sanskrit language, Vedas, Puranas, etc., worship, evening worship, and religious rituals at home. For further studies, he came to Allahabad where B.A. A. Did. He did his M.A. from Calcutta University. Did. Even before the age of twenty, he was selected for the board formed for the renovation of the Jaipur observatory and related research work, and together with Captain Garrett, he composed the English book titled “The Jaipur Observatory and Its Builders”.
6. Revolutionary Randhir Singh:- On this day in the year 1878, revolutionary Randhir Singh was born in the Ludhiana district of Punjab. He got his education at Christian College, Lahore. This movement got a lot of strength from his armed writing and poetic talent. Through studies, he gained deep knowledge of the Sikh philosophy of life. To earn a living, Randhir Singh worked as Tehsildar for a few years and then became a teacher at Khalsa College, Amritsar. He was against untouchability and in favor of women’s rights.
7. Screening of films for the first time: – On this day in the year 1896, films were screened for the first time by the Lumiere brothers at the Watson Hotel in Mumbai.
8. Politician Kala Venkatrao:- On this day in the year 1900, the politician Kala Venkatrao of South India was born.
9. Composer Anil Biswas:- On this day in the year 1914, musician Anil Biswas was born in East Bengal, which is now Bangladesh. He also joined the freedom struggle and was also in contact with Kazi Nazrul Islam, the great poet and musician of Bengal. He moved to Kolkata at a very young age and then moved to Mumbai in the year 1934. Coming to the film world of Mumbai, he saw that music from every province is present there. Mukesh started his career with ‘Dil Jalta Hai To Jalne De…’ and went on to sing many hits after that. Anil Biswas is also credited with using orchestra for the first time in Hindi film music. 10. Actor Chandrasekhar Vaidya: – On this day in the year 1922, actor Chandrasekhar Vaidya was born in Hyderabad. His father was a doctor in a government hospital. When Chandrasekhar was young, his mother passed away. After this, the father remarried. His stepmother was younger than him. Chandrashekhar Vaidya had to leave school due to financial constraints. In the year 1940, he moved to Bangalore with his grandmother. There came a time when he also worked as a watchman. He also became a part of the Quit India Movement in the year 1942. After working as a junior artist for some time, Chandrashekhar left Mumbai and worked as a singer in Pune. Chandrasekhar started his career with the film ‘Bebas’.
11. Politician Thakur Ram Lal:- On this day in the year 1929, Congress leader Thakur Ram Lal was born in village Barthata, tehsil Jubbal, district Shimla.
12. Raghavji:- On this day in the year 1934, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Raghavji was born in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh. Education, he did M.Com and LL.B. Received degrees. Raghavji adopted the profession of advocacy after completing his education. He has an important place in the politics of Madhya Pradesh. Raghavji is the Finance Minister of the state of Madhya Pradesh. He is a member of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Vidisha. Raghavji has also been a member of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. He was a member of the 6th Lok Sabha and 9th Lok Sabha MP.
13. Former Governor of Gujarat Anshuman Singh:- On this day in the year 1935, former Governor of Rajasthan and Gujarat and former Justice Anshuman Singh was born.
14. Politician Manohar Kant Dhyani:- On this day in the year 1942, politician Manohar Kant Dhyani was born in Ranakot, District Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand.
15. Handed over to Bose:- On this day in the year 1943, Ras Bihari Bose handed over the command of Azad Hind Fauj to leader Subhash Chandra Bose.
16. Establishment of Damodar Valley Corporation:- On this day in the year 1948, independent India’s first multipurpose project Damodar Valley Corporation was established. This river valley project was built on the Damodar River, the main river of Jharkhand. Under this project, 8 big dams, one barrier dam, 06 hydel powerhouses, and three thermal powerhouses have been constructed. 12000 MW of electricity is produced from this project, as well as irrigation is also done in an 08 lakh hectare area.
17. Writer Madhavi Sardesai:- On this day in the year 1962, writer Madhavi Sardesai was born in Lisbon, Portugal. Sardesai did his schooling through the Konkani medium. He did his graduation in English and Philosophy from Chowgule College, Margao. He did M.A. in Linguistics. Have done. Madhavi Sardesai did her Ph.D. from Goa University. He did important work on the Konkani language, literature, and linguistics. Along with this, he also contributed poems, short stories, and research papers. Woman litterateur Madhavi was the editor of the Konkani literary journal ‘Jaag’.
18. Cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni:- On this day in the year 1962, cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni was born in a middle-class family in Ranchi, Jharkhand. His father’s name is Paan Singh and his mother’s name is Devki Devi. Considered one of the greatest captains, wicket-keeper-batsman, and finisher in the history of cricket. Dhoni plays as a right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman and is known for his calm captaincy and ability to finish matches in tight situations.
