1. हल्दीघाटी का युद्ध:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1576 में महाराणा प्रताप और मुगल साम्राज्य का शासक अकबर के बीच हल्दीघाटी का युद्ध शुरू हुआ. मेवाड़ के महाराणा प्रताप का समर्थन करने वाले घुड़सवारों और धनुर्धारियों और मुगल सम्राट अकबर की सेना के बीच लडा गया था जिसका नेतृत्व आमेर के राजा मान सिंह प्रथम ने किया था.इस युद्ध में महाराणा प्रताप को भील जनजाति का सहयोग मिला.
2. किले पर कब्जा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1576 में औरंगजेब ने आगरा के किले पर कब्जा कर लिया.
3. राष्ट्रीय नेता सी. विजय राघवा चारियर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1852 में राष्ट्रीय नेता सी. विजय राघवा चारियर का जन्म सेलम ज़िला में हुआ. वर्ष 1885 से 1901 तक वे लेजिस्लेटिव कौंसिल के सदस्य रहे थे. विजय राघवा चारियर नागपुर में वर्ष 1920 में हुए काँग्रेस के वार्षिक अधिवेशन के अध्यक्ष रहे थे.
4. अनुग्रह नारायण सिन्हा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1887 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, शिक्षक, वकील, राजनीतिज्ञ तथा आधुनिक बिहार के निर्माता अनुग्रह नारायण सिन्हा का जन्म पोईअवा नामक गांव में हुआ था. उनके पिता ठाकुर विशेश्वर दयाल सिंह जी अपने इलाके के एक वीर पुरुष थे.वर्ष 1900 में औरंगाबाद मिडिल स्कूल, 1904 में गया ज़िला स्कूल और 1908 में पटना कॉलेज में प्रविष्ट हुए। जिस समय ये पटना कॉलेज में आये, उस समय देश के शिक्षित व्यक्तियों के हृदय में परतंत्रता की वेदना का अनुभव होने लगा था. सुरेन्द्रनाथ बनर्जी तथा योगिराज अरविंद जैसी महान् आत्माओं का प्रादुर्भाव हो चुका था. इन महान् आत्माओं के कार्यकलापों तथा व्याख्यानों का समुचित प्रभाव अनुग्रह बाबू के हृदय पर प़डा.सर्फूद्दीन के नेतृत्व में ‘बिहारी छात्र सम्मेलन’ नामक संस्था संगठित की गई, जिसमें देशरत्न डॉ. राजेन्द्र बाबू ऐसे मेधावी छात्रों को कार्य करने तथा नेतृत्व करने का सुअवसर प्राप्त हुआ. वर्ष  1914 में इतिहास से एम.ए. करने के बाद 1915 में बी एल की परीक्षा में भी सफलता प्राप्त की. वर्ष 1916 में उन्होंने कॉलेज की नौकरी से त्यागपत्र दे दिया और पटना हाईकोर्ट में वकालत प्रारंभ कर दी. वकालत के सिलसिले में सरलता की मूर्ति देशरत्न राजेन्द्र बाबू के संसर्ग में अधिक रहने का सुअवसर भी इन्हें प्राप्त हुआ और उनसे पेशे को उन्नत करने की प्रेरणा भी मिली.उन्हें वकालत करते हुए अभी एक वर्ष भी नहीं बीता था कि चम्पारण में नील आंदोलन उठ ख़डा हुआ. इस आंदोलन ने उनके जीवन की धारा ही बदल दी.स्वाधीनता के बाद राष्ट्र निर्माण व जनकल्याण के कार्यो में उन्होंने सक्रिय योगदान दिया.
5. लेखक दादा धर्माधिकारी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1887 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, गाँधीवादी चिन्तक और प्रसिद्ध लेखक दादा धर्माधिकारी का जन्म मध्य प्रदेश के बैतूल जिले में हुआ था. जब वे नागपुर में शिक्षा ग्रहण कर रहे थे, उसी समय महात्मा गाँधी ने ‘असहयोग आन्दोलन’ प्रारम्भ कर दिया. उस समय दादा धर्माधिकारी ने शिक्षा छोड़ दी और विद्यालय त्याग दिया. उन्होंने औपचारिक शिक्षा की कोई डिग्री नहीं ली थी, किन्तु स्वाध्याय से ही अपने समय के विचारको में महत्वपूर्ण स्थान बना लिया था. दादा धर्माधिकारी ने ‘तिलक विद्यालय’, नागपुर में शिक्षक के रूप में कार्य आरंभ किया. वे स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में भी सक्रिय भाग लेते रहे.दादा धर्माधिकारी ने अपने जीवन का लंबा समय दलितों और महिलाओं के उत्थान में लगाया. दादा वैचारिक क्रांति के पक्षधर थे. उनकी मान्यता थी कि समाज में परिवर्तन के लिए लोगों के विचारों में परिवर्तन आवश्यक है.
6. पाँचवें सर संघ चालक के एस सुदर्शन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1931में राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ के पाँचवें सर संघ चालक के एस सुदर्शन का जन्म को छत्तीसगढ़ रायपुर जिले में हुआ था. के एस सुदर्शन के पिता सीतारामैया वन-विभाग की नौकरी के कारण अधिकांश समय मध्यप्रदेश में ही रहे और वहीं तत्कालीन मध्यप्रदेश (मौजूदा छत्तीसगढ़) की राजधानी रायपुर ज़िले में एक ब्राह्मण परिवार में सुदर्शन का जन्म हुआ.सुदर्शन की प्रारंभिक शिक्षा रायपुर, दामोह, मंडला और चंद्रपुर में हुई. महज 9 साल की उम्र में ही उन्होंने पहली बार आरएसएस शाखा में भाग लिया. उन्होंने वर्ष 1954 में जबलपुर के सागर विश्वविद्यालय (इंजीनिरिंग कालेज) से दूरसंचार विषय (टेलीकाम/ टेलीकम्युनिकेशंस) में बी.ई की उपाधि प्राप्त कर वो 23 साल की उम्र में पहली बार सुदर्शन आरएसएस के पूर्णकालिक प्रचारक बने.सुदर्शन किसी भी समस्या की गहराई तक जाकर, उसके बारे में मूलगामी चिन्तन कर उसका सही समाधान ढूंढ निकालना उनकी विशेषता थी.
7. खिलाड़ी होमी डैडी मोतीवाला:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1940 में नौकायन के श्रेष्ठ खिलाड़ी होमी डैडी मोतीवाला का जन्म मुम्बई में हुआ. मोतीवाला ने स्कॉटिश हाई स्कूल, बम्बई से शिक्षा प्राप्त की और नेशनल डिफेन्स अकादमी से ट्रेनिंग लेकर जल-सेना में नौकरी प्राप्त कर ली. उन्होंने 1983 में नौका-क्रीड़ा की राष्ट्रीय चैंपियनशिप जीती, फिर 1986 व 1990 में भी उन्होंने अपने-साथी पी.के. गर्ग के साथ राष्ट्रीय चैंपियनशिप जीती. वर्ष 1993 में ‘अर्जुन पुरस्कार’ प्रदान किया गया तथा 1994-1995 के लिए संयुक्त रूप से पुष्पेन्द्र कुमार गर्ग के साथ ‘राजीव गाँधी खेल रत्न पुरस्कार’ दिया गया.
8. फॉरवर्ड ब्लॉक की स्थापना:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1940 में नेताजी सुभाष चंद्र बोस द्वारा भारतीय राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस के फॉरवर्ड ब्लॉक की स्थापना हुई थी.
9. पहला सत्याग्रह आंदोलन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1946 में डॉ राम मनोहर लोहिया की अगुवाई में गोवा में पुर्तगाल के शासन के खिलाफ पहला सत्याग्रह आंदोलन शुरू हुआ था.
10. हिंदू उत्तराधिकार अधिनियम:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1946 में हिंदू उत्तराधिकार अधिनियम पारित हुआ.
11. साहित्यकार सेठ गोविन्द दास:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1974 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, सांसद तथा हिन्दी के साहित्यकार सेठ गोविन्द दास का निधन हुआ था.
12. शकुंतला देवी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1980 में शकुंतला देवी ने दो 13 डिजिट के नंबरों का गुणा किया और 28 सेकंड्स में सही उत्तर दे दिया.
13. विश्व खाद्य पुरस्कार:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1987 में एम.एस.स्वामीनाथन को पहला विश्व खाद्य पुरस्कार मिला.
14. टकराव को समाप्त करने का फैसला:- भारत और पाकिस्तान ने सियाचिन ग्लेशियर क्षेत्र में पांच वर्षीय टकराव को समाप्त करने का फैसला किया और अपनी सेना वापस ले ली.

1. Battle of Haldighati:- On this day in the year 1576, the war of Haldighati started between Maharana Pratap and Akbar, the ruler of the Mughal Empire. It was fought between the horsemen and archers supporting Maharana Pratap of Mewar and the army of Mughal Emperor Akbar which was led by Raja Man Singh I of Amer. Maharana Pratap got the support of the Bhil tribe in this war.

3. National leader C. Vijay Raghava Chariyar:- On this day in the year 1852, national leader C. Vijay Raghava Chariyar was born in Salem district. 4. Anugrah Narayan Sinha:- On this day in the year 1887, freedom fighter, teacher, lawyer, politician, and builder of modern Bihar, Anugrah Narayan Sinha was born in a village named Poiawa. While he was studying in Nagpur, at the same time Mahatma Gandhi started the ‘Non-Cooperation Movement’. At that time Dada Dharmadhikari left education and left the school. 6. Fifth Sar Sangh Chalak KS Sudarshan:- On this day in the year 1931, the fifth Sar Sangh Chalak KS Sudarshan of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh was born in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur district.
