1. विस्थापित वर्ग मिशन सोसाइटी ऑफ इंडिया की स्थापना: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1906 में महर्षि विट्ठल रामजी शिंदे ने मुंबई में विस्थापित वर्ग मिशन सोसाइटी ऑफ इंडिया की स्थापना की थी.
2. विलियमसन ए. संगमा: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1906 में मेघालय के भूतपूर्व प्रथम मुख्यमंत्री विलियमसन ए. संगमा का जन्म दक्षिण गारो हिल्स जिले के बागमारा में हुआ था. अम्पांग संगमा एक आदिवासी नेता थे. उन्होंने मेघालय राज्य के निर्माण के लिए संघर्ष करने वाली अग्रणी तीन प्राचीन पहाड़ी समुदायों- गारोस, जयंतिया और खासी के नेता थे.
3. पूर्व निदेशक इब्राहिम अल्काज़ी: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1925 में भारतीय रंगमंच के निदेशक और नेशनल स्कूल ऑफ़ ड्रामा के पूर्व निदेशक इब्राहिम अल्काज़ी का जन्म पुणे में हुआ था. इनकी शिक्षा-दीक्षा पुणे में ही हुई थी. हाई स्कूल में पढ़ाई के दौरान रंगमंच के प्रति रुचि पैदा हुई थी. मुंबई के सेंट जेवियर कॉलेज में सुल्तान ‘बॉबी’ पदमसी की अंग्रेजी थियेटर कंपनी से भी जुड़ गये थे. जब उनके पिता ने देखा कि इब्राहिम की रूचि रंगमंच में है तब उन्होंने इंग्लैंड जाने की सलाह दी. उसके बाद इब्राहिम वर्ष 1947 में रॉयल एकेडेमी ऑफ ड्रमेटिक आर्ट में प्रशिक्षण लिया और नाम एवं कीर्ति भी पाई थी. उसके बाद भारत वापस आकर थियेटर ग्रुप से जुड़ गए। वर्ष 1962 में इब्राहिम अल्काज़ी को नेशनल स्कूल ऑफ़ ड्रामा का निदेशक बनाया गया था. इब्राहिम को एक सख्त अनुशासक के रूप में जाना जाता था. उन्होंने नई दिल्ली में एक आर्ट हेरिटेज गैलरी की भी स्थापना की थी. वर्ष 1966 में रंगमंच के क्षेत्र में योगदान को लेकर इब्राहिम अल्काज़ी को पद्म श्री, वर्ष 1991 में  पद्मभूषण और वर्ष 2010 में  पद्म विभूषण से सम्मानित किया गया था.
4. उत्तराखंड के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री नारायण दत्त तिवारी: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1925 में उत्तराखंड के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री नारायण दत्त तिवारी का जन्म बल्यूरी, (पदमपुरी ) नैनीताल में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम पूरन चंद तिवारी था जो कि स्वतंत्रता सेनानी थे. विद्यार्थी जीवन में ही देशभक्ति की भावना से ओतप्रोत नारायण दत्त वर्ष 1942 के ‘भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन’  सम्मिलित हुये और गिरफ्तार भी हुये. जेल से छूटने के बाद उन्होंने पढ़ाई पूरी की. विश्वविद्यालय में पढ़ाई के दौरान  देश के प्रमुख नेताओं से मिलने का मौका मिला और नारायण दत्त समाजवादी बन गए. वर्ष 1952 के प्रथम आम चुनाव में समाजवादी पार्टी की ओर से उत्तर प्रदेश विधान सभा के सदस्य चुने गये थे. वर्ष 1965 में नारायण दत्त तिवारी कांग्रेस में सम्मिलित हो गये थे. वर्ष 1969 के मध्य विधि चुनाव में विजयी होने पर नारायण दत्त उत्तर प्रदेश में मंत्री बने थे. वर्ष 1988 में नारायण दत्त ने उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री का पद भी संभाला था. उन्होंने राज्य ही नहीं केंद्र में भी योजना, उद्योग, पेट्रोलियम और विदेश मंत्री के पद पर काम कर चुके हैं. वर्ष 2002 में नारायण दत्त ने उत्तरांचल के मुख्यमंत्री का पद भी संभाला था. नारायण दत्त तिवारी का निधन आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2018 को दिल्ली के मैक्स अस्पताल में हुआ था. वे 93 वर्ष के थे.
5. अभिनेता ओम पुरी: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1950 में अभिनेता ओम पुरी का जन्म हरियाणा के अम्बाला शहर में हुआ था. उनकी प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा  पटियाला से पूरी की थी. उसके बाद उन्होंने वर्ष 1976 में पुणे फिल्म संस्थान से प्रशिक्षण प्राप्त किया. ओम पुरी ने अपने अभिनय कैरियर की शुरुआत मराठी नाटक पर आधारित फ़िल्म ‘घासीराम कोतवाल’ से की थी. ओम पुरी के सिने कैरियर की पहली हिट फ़िल्म “आक्रोश” थी. पुरी ने कई भारतीय फ़िल्मों के साथ-साथ यूनाइटेड किंगडम और संयुक्त राज्य में कई फ़िल्मों में काम किया था.  उन्हें हिंदी सिनेमा में अपनी बेहतरीन अभिनय के चलते कई पुरस्कारों से भी सम्मानित किया गया था.
6. बैंगलोर में परीक्षण: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1972 में पहले बहुदेशीय हेलिकॉप्टर एस ए 315 का बैंगलोर में परीक्षण किया गया था.
7. अभिनेत्री ज्योतिका सरवनन: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1977 में अभिनेत्री ज्योतिका सरवनन का जन्म बॉम्बे, महाराष्ट्र के एक पंजाबी पिता और एक महाराष्ट्रीयन मां से हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम चंदर सदाना है जो की एक फिल्म निर्माता हैं और उनकी माँ का नाम सीमा सदाना है जो अभिनेत्री नगमा उनकी सौतेली बहन हैं. ज्योतिका ने अपनी प्रारम्भिक शिक्षालर्नर्स एकेडमी, मुंबई में पूरी की. उन्होंने मुंबई के मीठीबाई कॉलेज में मनोविज्ञान की  भी पढ़ाई की. ज्योतिका सरवनन ने अपने अभिनय कैरियर की शुरुआत फिल्म ‘डोली सजा के रखना’ से की थी. उन्हें कई राष्ट्रीय व अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कारों से सम्मानित किया गया है.
8. अभिनेत्री फ्रीडा पिंटो: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1984 में अभिनेत्री फ्रीडा पिंटो का जन्म मुंबई में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम फ्रेडरिक पिंटो है  जो कि बड़ौदा बैंक के वरिष्ठ शाखा प्रबंधक थे और उनकी माँ का नाम सिल्विया पिंटो है जो कि, सेंट जॉन यूनिवर्सल हाई स्कूल (गुडगाँव) में प्रधानाचार्य के पद पर रह चुकी हैं. फ्रीडा पिंटो ने अपने कैरियर की शुरुआत बतौर मॉडल वर्ष 2007 से की थी. फ्रीडा पिंटो ने अपने अभिनय कैरियर की शुरुआत फिल्म स्लमडॉग मिलियेनर से की थी.

1. Establishment of Displaced Class Mission Society of India: – On this day in the year 1906, Maharishi Vitthal Ramji Shinde established the Displaced Class Mission Society of India in Mumbai.
2. Williamson A. Sangma: – On this day in the year 1906, the former first Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Williamson A. Sangma was born in Baghmara in South Garo Hills district. Ampang Sangma was a tribal leader. He was the leader of three ancient hill communities – the Garos, Jaintias and Khasis – who led the struggle for the creation of the state of Meghalaya.
3. Former director Ibrahim Alkazi: – On this day in the year 1925, Ibrahim Alkazi, director of Indian theatre and former director of the National School of Drama, was born in Pune. His education was in Pune only. Interest in theatre arose while studying in high school. Sultan also joined ‘Bobby’ Padamsee’s English theatre company at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. When his father saw that Ibrahim was interested in theatre, he advised him to go to England. After that, Ibrahim took training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in the year 1947 and also got name and fame. After that, he came back to India and joined the theatre group. In the year 1962, Ibrahim Alkazi was made the director of the National School of Drama. Ibrahim was known as a strict disciplinarian. He also established the EkArt Heritage Gallery in New Delhi. Ibrahim Alkazi was awarded Padma Shri in 1966, Padma Bhushan in 1991 and Padma Vibhushan in 2010 for his contribution to the field of theatre.
4. Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Narayan Dutt Tiwari: – On this day in the year 1925, former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Narayan Dutt Tiwari was born in Baluri, (Padampuri), Nainital. His father’s name was Puran Chand Tiwari who was a freedom fighter. During his student days, Narayan Dutt, filled with the spirit of patriotism, joined the ‘Quit India Movement’ of 1942 and was also arrested. After being released from jail, he completed his studies. While studying at the university, he got a chance to meet prominent leaders of the country and Narayan Dutt became a socialist. In the first general election of 1952, he was elected member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from the Samajwadi Party. Narayan Dutt Tiwari joined Congress in the year 1965. Narayan Dutt became a minister in Uttar Pradesh after winning the midterm elections in 1969. In the year 1988, Narayan Dutt also took over the post of Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He has worked in the post of Planning, Industry, Petroleum and Foreign Minister not only in the state but also in the Centre. In the year 2002, Narayan Dutt also took over the post of Chief Minister of Uttaranchal. Narayan Dutt Tiwari died on this day in 2018 at Max Hospital, Delhi. He was 93 years old.
5. Actor Om Puri: – On this day in the year 1950, actor Om Puri was born in Ambala city of Haryana. He completed his primary education in Patiala. After that, he received training from Pune Film Institute in the year 1976. Om Puri started his acting career with the film ‘Ghasiram Kotwal’ based on the Marathi play. The first hit film of Om Puri’s cine career was “Aakrosh”. Puri has worked in several Indian films as well as films in the United Kingdom and the United States. He was also honoured with many awards for his excellent acting in Hindi cinema.
6. Testing in Bangalore: – On this day in the year 1972, the first multi-role helicopter SA 315 was tested in Bangalore.
7. Actress Jyothika Saravanan: – On this day in the year 1977, actress Jyothika Saravanan was born to a Punjabi father and a Maharashtrian mother from Bombay, Maharashtra. His father’s name is Chander Sadana, who is a film producer and his mother’s name is Seema Sadana, who is actress Nagma. His step-sister is. Jyotika completed her primary education at Learners Academy, Mumbai. He also studied psychology at Mithibai College, Mumbai. Jyothika Saravanan started her acting career with the film ‘Doli Saaja Ke Rakhna’. He has been honoured with many national and international awards.
8. Actress Freida Pinto: – On this day in the year 1984, actress Freida Pinto was born in Mumbai. His father’s name is Frederick Pinto, who was a senior branch manager at Baroda Bank and his mother’s name is Sylvia Pinto, who served as the Principal of St. John’s Universal High School (Gurgaon). Freida Pinto started her career as a model in 2007. Freida Pinto started her acting career with the film Slumdog Millionaire.
