1. दिल्ली की गद्दी पर बैठाया: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1788 में मराठों ने शाह आलम को दिल्ली की गद्दी पर बैठाया था.
2. द्वीप समूह के अधिकार ब्रिटेन को बेचा: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1868 में डेनमार्क ने निकोबार द्वीप समूह के अधिकार को ब्रिटेन से बेच दिया था. इसके साथ ही भारतीय उप महाद्वीप से डेनमार्क के दखल का आखिरी निशान भी मिट गया था.
3. मलयालम भाषी कवि वल्लथोल नारायण मेनन: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1878 में मलयालम भाषी कवि वल्लथोल नारायण मेनन का जन्म उत्तरी केरल के एक धनी और प्राचीन विचारों वाले नायर परिवार में हुआ था. वर्ष 1909 में उन्होंने वाल्मीकि रामायण का मलयालम भाषा में अनुवाद किया था.
4. बंगाल का विभाजन प्रभावी हुआ: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1905 में बंगाल का विभाजन प्रभावी हुआ था. बताते चलें कि, भारत के तत्कालीन वाइसराय कर्जन ने 19-20 जुलाई, वर्ष 1905 को बंगाल विभाजन के निर्णय की घोषणा की गई थी. बंगाल विभाजन का मुख्य उद्देश्य था कि बंगाल की संगठित राजनीतिक भावना को समाप्त करना तथा राष्ट्रीयता के वेग को कम करना साथ ही पूर्वी बंगाल में मुसलमानों का बहुमत तथा पश्चिमी भाग में हिन्दुओं का बहुमत रखना जिससे हिन्दू-मुस्लिम एकता समाप्त हो जाए.
5. संथाली भाषा के शिक्षाविद दिगम्बर हांसदा: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1939 में संथाली भाषा के शिक्षाविद और पद्मश्री से सम्मानित दिगम्बर हांसदा का जन्म डोभापानी, पूर्वी सिंहभूम जिला, झारखंड में हुआ था. उनकी प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा राजदोहा मिडिल स्कूल से हुई थी. उन्होंने मैट्रिक की परीक्षा मानपुर हाइस्कूल से पास की थी. वर्ष 1963 में रांची यूनिवर्सिटी से राजनीति विज्ञान में स्नातक और वर्ष 1965 में एम.ए की परीक्षा पास की थी. हांसदा ने आदिवासियों के सामाजिक एवं आर्थिक उत्थान के लिए पश्चिम बंगाल और ओडिशा में भी काम किया था. प्रो. हांसदा संथाल साहित्य अकादमी के संस्थापक सदस्य भी रहे थे. बताते चलें कि, प्रो. हांसदा का जन-जातीय और उनकी भाषा के उत्थान में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान रहा है. वे केंद्र सरकार के जनजातीय अनुसंधान संस्थान व साहित्य अकादमी के भी सदस्य रहे थे साथ ही  इन्होंने कई पाठ्य पुस्तकों का देवनागरी से संथाली में अनुवाद भी किया था. वर्ष 2018 में प्रो. हांसदा को  साहित्य और शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में उत्कृष्ट योगदान के लिए राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद ने ‘पद्म श्री’ से सम्मानित किया था.
6. भजन गायक नरेंद्र चंचल: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1940 में भजन गायक नरेंद्र चंचल का जन्म अमृतसर के पंजाबी परिवार में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम चेतराम खरबंदा और माता का नाम कैलाशवती था. ज्ञात है कि, नरेंद्र को अपनी माँ के कारण बहजन में रूचि बढ़ी थी. नरेंद्र ने प्रेम त्रिखा से संगीत सीखा और वो भजन गाने लगे थे. उन्होंने ‘मिडनाइट सिंगर’ नामक एक बायोग्राफी भी जारी की, जो उनके जीवन, संघर्षों और कठिनाइयों को बताती है. वर्ष 1973 में नरेंद्र ने फिल्म ‘बॉबी’ के लिए बॉलीवुड गीत ‘बेशर्क मंदिर मस्जिद’ गाया था जो काफी हिट हुई थी. जिसके बाद नरेंद्र को फिल्म फेयर बेस्ट मेल प्लेबैक अवार्ड से सम्मानित किया गया था. नरेंद्र ने सिर्फ भजन ही नहीं उन्होंने कई हिंदी फिल्मों के गाने भी गए थे.
7. तबला वादक लच्छू महाराज: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1944 में तबला वादक लच्छू महाराज का जन्म बनारस (उत्तर प्रदेश) में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम वासुदेव महाराज था. उन्होंने बनारस घराने की तबला बजाने की परम्परा को आगे बढ़ाया था.
8. 14वें मुख्यमंत्री ‘नवीन पटनायक‘: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1946 में ओडिशा के 14वें मुख्यमंत्री नवीन पटनायक का जन्म कटक (ओडिशा) के एक कायस्थ परिवार में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम ‘बीजू पटनायक’ जो कि ओडिशा के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री थे और उनकी माता का नाम ज्ञान पटनायक था. नवीन की शिक्षा  दून विद्यालय में हुई और बाद में उन्होंने किरोड़ीमल महाविद्यालय, दिल्ली से कला में स्नातक की शिक्षा पूरी की थी. वर्ष 1997 में पिता की मृत्यु के बाद राजनीति में कदम रखा और एक वर्ष बाद ही अपने पिता बीजू पटनायक के नाम पर बीजू जनता दल की स्थापना की. उसके बाद विधानसभा चुनावों में जीत दर्ज की और भाजपा के साथ सरकार बनाई जिसमें वे स्वयं ही मुख्यमंत्री बने थे.
9. अभिनेत्री और नृत्यांगना हेमा मालिनी: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1948 में अभिनेत्री और नृत्यांगना हेमा मालिनी का जन्म अम्मनकुड़ी, मद्रास, भारत(वर्तमान तमिलनाडु, भारत) के एक हिंदू तमिल अयंगर ब्राह्मण परिवार में हुआ था. इनका पूरा नाम हेमा मालिनी आर चक्रवर्ती है. उनके पिता का नाम वीएसआर चक्रवर्ती और उनकी माँ का नाम जया चक्रवर्ती है जो कि एक फिल्म निर्माता थीं. हेमा मालिनी ने अपने अभिनय कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 1970 में फिल्म ‘जॉनी मेरा नाम’ से की थी.’ड्रीमगर्ल’ नाम से प्रसिद्ध हेमा ने वर्ष 1981 में अभिनेता धर्मेन्द्र से विवाह किया किया था. हेमा मालिनी एक अभिनेत्री, लेखिका, फिल्म-निदेशक, नृत्यांगना और राजनेता भी हैं. हेमा उन गिनी-चुनी अभिनेत्रियों में शामिल हैं, जिनमें सौन्दर्य और अभिनय का अनूठा संगम देखने को मिलता है. लगभग चार दशक के कैरियर में उन्होंने कई सुपरहिट फिल्मों में काम किया है.
10. कप्तान कपिल देव ने क्रिकेट जीवन की शुरुआत की: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1978 में भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के पूर्व कप्तान कपिल देव ने पाकिस्तान में फैसलाबाद टेस्ट से अपने क्रिकेट जीवन की शुरुआत की थीं.
11. भौतिक वैज्ञानिक और गणितज्ञ हरीश चंद्र महरोत्रा: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1983 में भौतिक वैज्ञानिक और गणितज्ञ हरीश चंद्र महरोत्रा का निधन न्यू जर्सी, यूनाइटेड स्टेट में हुआ था.
12. स्वतंत्रता सेनानी गणेश घोष: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1994 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी गणेश घोष का निधन कोलकाता में हुआ था.
13. शतक’ बना चुके फ़ौजा सिंह ने गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड में अपना नाम दर्ज कराया: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2011 में शतक’ बना चुके ‘फ़ौजा सिंह’ ने सबसे अधिक उम्र में टोरंटो वाटरफ्रंट मैराथन पूरा करके नया कीर्तिमान स्थापित करते हुए गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड में अपना नाम दर्ज कराया है.

1. Installed on the throne of Delhi: – On this day in the year 1788, the Marathas installed Shah Alam on the throne of Delhi.
2. Sold the rights of the islands to Britain: – On this day in the year 1868, Denmark sold the rights of the Nicobar Islands to Britain. With this, the last trace of Denmark’s interference in the Indian subcontinent was also erased.
3. Malayalam-speaking poet Vallathol Narayana Menon: – On this day in the year 1878, Malayalam-speaking poet Vallathol Narayana Menon was born in a wealthy and ancient-minded Nair family of North Kerala. In the year 1909, he translated Valmiki Ramayana into the Malayalam language.
4. Partition of Bengal came into effect: – On this day in the year 1905, the partition of Bengal came into effect. Let us tell you that the decision of partition of Bengal was announced by the then Viceroy of India Curzon on 19-20 July 1905. The main objective of the partition of Bengal was to end the organized political spirit of Bengal and to reduce the momentum of nationalism as well as to keep the majority of Muslims in East Bengal and the majority of Hindus in the western part, thereby ending Hindu-Muslim unity.
5. Santhali language educationist Digambar Hansda: – On this day in the year 1939, Santhali language educationist and Padma Shri awardee Digambar Hansda was born in Dobhapani, East Singhbhum district, Jharkhand. His primary education was at Rajdoha Middle School. He passed the matriculation examination from Manpur High School. He graduated in Political Science from Ranchi University in 1963 and passed the MA examination in 1965. Hansda also worked for the social and economic upliftment of tribals in West Bengal and Odisha. Pro. Hansda was also a founding member of Santhal Sahitya Akademi. Let us tell you that, Prof. Hansda has made an important contribution to the upliftment of tribals and their language. He was also a member of the Central Government’s Tribal Research Institute and Sahitya Academy and also translated many textbooks from Devanagari to Santhali. In the year 2018, Prof. Hansda was awarded ‘Padma Shri’ by President Ramnath Kovind for his outstanding contribution to the field of literature and education.
6. Bhajan singer Narendra Chanchal: – On this day in the year 1940, Bhajan singer Narendra Chanchal was born in a Punjabi family of Amritsar. His father’s name was Chetram Kharbanda and his mother’s name was Kailashwati. It is known that Narendra had increased interest in his sister-in-law because of his mother. Narendra learned music from Prem Trikha and started singing bhajans. He also released a biography titled ‘Midnight Singer’, which narrates his life, struggles and hardships. In the year 1973, Narendra sang the Bollywood song ‘Beshark Mandir Masjid’ for the film ‘Bobby’ which became a huge hit. After which Narendra was honoured with the Filmfare Best Male Playback Award. Narendra not only sang bhajans but also sang songs from many Hindi films.
7. Tabla player Lachchu Maharaj: – Today in the year 1944, tabla player Lachchu Maharaj was born in Banaras (Uttar Pradesh). His father’s name was Vasudev Maharaj. He carried forward the tradition of playing tabla of Banaras Gharana.
8. 14th Chief Minister ‘Naveen Patnaik’: – On this day in the year 1946, the 14th Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, was born in a Kayastha family of Cuttack (Odisha). His father’s name was ‘Biju Patnaik’ who was the former Chief Minister of Odisha and his mother’s name was Gyan Patnaik. Naveen was educated in Doon Vidyalaya and later completed his graduation in Arts from Kirori Mal College, Delhi. After his father died in 1997, he entered politics and a year later founded Biju Janata Dal in the name of his father Biju Patnaik. After that, he won the assembly elections and formed a government with the BJP in which he became the Chief Minister.

His father’s name is VSR Chakraborty and his mother’s name is Jaya Chakraborty, who was a film producer. Hema Malini started her acting career in the year 1970 with the film ‘Johnny Mera Naam’. Hema, famous by the name ‘Dreamgirl’, married actor Dharmendra in the year 1981. Hema Malini is also an actress, writer, film director, dancer and politician.
