1. महापौर अदालतों को बनाने: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1726 में ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी ने बम्बई, कलकत्ता और मद्रास में नगर निगम और महापौर अदालतों को बनाने के लिए अधिकृत किया था.
2. साहित्यकार प्रताप नारायण मिश्र: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1856 में हिन्दी खड़ी बोली और ‘भारतेन्दु युग’ के उन्नायक प्रताप नारायण मिश्र का जन्म उत्तर प्रदेश के उन्नाव ज़िले में वैजे गाँव में एक कात्यायन गोत्रीय और कान्यकुब्ज ब्राह्मण परिवार में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम पण्डित संकटादीन जो एक ज्योतिषी थे. प्रताप नारायण अपने पिता से ही ज्योतिष की शिक्षा लेने लगे लेकिन, उनकी अरुचि को देखते हुए उनके पिता ने अंग्रेजी स्कूल में दाखिला करा दिया. पिता की मृत्यु के बाद प्रताप नारायण की शिक्षा अधूरी रह गई. प्रताप नारायण बचपन से ही गद्य-पद्य-मय लेखों का नियमित पाठ करते थे. वर्ष 1883 को ठीक होली के दिन अपने कई मित्रों के सहयोग से मिश्र जी ने ‘ब्राह्मण’ नामक मासिक पत्र निकाला. सजीवता, सादगी बाँकपन और फक्कड़पन के कारण भारतेंदु कालीन साहित्यकारों में जो स्थान प्रताप नारायण मिश्र जी का था. हिन्दी गद्य के विकास में मिश्र जी का बड़ा योगदान रहा है.
3. भीकाजी रुस्तम कामा अथवा ‘मैडम कामा: –आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1861में भीकाजी रुस्तम कामा अथवा ‘मैडम कामा का जन्म मुंबई के एक पारसी परिवार में हुआ था. मैडम कामा ने अंग्रेज़ी माध्यम से शिक्षा प्राप्त की और उनका विवाह रुस्तम के. आर. कामा के साथ हुआ था. मैडम कामा ने दादाभाई नौरोजी के यहां सेक्रेटरी के पद पर कार्य किया। वो हमेशा भारत की स्वतंत्रता के लिए सदा चिंतित रहती थीं. मैडम कामा ने लन्दन, जर्मनी तथा अमेरिका का भ्रमण कर भारत की स्वतंत्रता के पक्ष में माहौल बनाया था. वर्ष 1907 में जर्मनी के स्टटगार्ट नगर में सातवीं अंतर्राष्ट्रीय कांग्रेस में मैडम कामा ने तिरंगा फहराया था. बताते चलें कि, मैडम भीकाजी कामा ने भारत का पहला झंडा फहराया, उसमें हरा, केसरिया तथा लाल रंग के पट्टे थे साथ ही उस तिरंगे में 8 कमल के फूल भारत के 8 राज्यों के प्रतीक थे. उस झंडे के बीच में ‘वन्दे मातरम्’ भी लिखा था.
4. चिकित्सा वैज्ञानिक अवतार सिंह पेंटाल: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1925 में चिकित्सा वैज्ञानिक अवतार सिंह पेंटाल का जन्म मोगोक, म्यांमार (बर्मा) में हुआ था. अवतार सिंह की प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा पूरा करने के बाद लखनऊ के जॉर्ज मेडिकल कॉलेज से शरीर विज्ञान में स्नातकोत्तर की डिग्री हासिल की. उसके बाद वे उच्च शिक्षा के लिए वर्ष 1950 में लंदन चले गये. वहाँ उन्होंने  एडिनबर्ग विश्वविद्यालय से पीएचडी की डिग्री प्राप्त की. पीएचडी के दौरान उन्होंने त्वचा के विद्युत प्रतिरोध का अध्ययन करने के लिए  इलेक्ट्रॉनिक उपकरणों का निर्माण किया. उनकी यह प्रणाली आगे चलकर पेंटाल-इंडेक्स के रूप में प्रसिद्ध हुआ था.
5. पुणे समझौता:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1932 में राजगोपालाचारी, जयकर, तेज बहादुर सप्रू, घनश्याम दास बिड़ला इत्यादि नेताओं के प्रयासों से महात्मा गांधी और दलित नेता अंबेडकर के बीच एक समझौता हस्ताक्षर हुआ था. इस समझौते के अंतर्गत ‘संयुक्त हिंदू निर्वाचन व्यवस्था के अंतर्गत दलितों के लिए स्थान आरक्षित रखने पर सहमति बनी’ इसी समझौते को पूना पैक्ट भी कहा जाता है.
6. महिला तैराक आरती साहा: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1940 में महिला तैराक आरती साहा का जन्म कोलकाता, पश्चिम बंगाल के एक बंगाली हिन्दू परिवार में हुआ था. उनका पूरा नाम आरती साहा गुप्ता है. उनके पिता का नाम पंचुगोपाल साहा था. आरती साहा भारत तथा एशिया की ऐसी पहली महिला तैराक थीं, जिसने इंग्लिश चैनल तैरकर पार किया था. आरती ने यह करनामा 29 सितम्बर, 1959 में कर दिखाया था. आरती साहा ‘पद्मश्री’ प्राप्त करने वाली पहली भारतीय महिला खिलाड़ी थीं.
7. क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी मोहिन्दर अमरनाथ: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1950 को क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी मोहिन्दर अमरनाथ का जन्म पंजाब राज्य के पटियाला ज़िले में हुआ था. इनके पिता का नाम क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी लाला अमरनाथ थे. वर्ष 1969 में मोहिन्दर अमरनाथ ने पहला मैच तेज़ गति के गेंदबाज़ के साथ एक त्वरित हरफनमौला खिलाड़ी के रूप में किया था. लेकिन अपने कैरियर के सर्वोच्च शिखर पर वे हमेशा एक शीर्ष क्रम के बल्लेबाज़ के रूप में आये. मोहिन्दर अमरनाथ ने अपना पहला शतक ऑस्ट्रेलिया के पर्थ मेें लगाया था. वर्ष 1982-83 में पाकिस्तान के विरुद्ध पांच टेस्ट मैचों की श्रृंखला में भारत को 3-0 से शिकस्त झेलनी पड़ी थी, उसमें भी अमरनाथ का प्रदर्शन कमाल का था और वे इमरान ख़ान के साथ संयुक्त रूप से ‘मैन ऑफ़ द सीरिज’ रहे थे. अमरनाथ को ‘क्रिकेट विश्व कप-1983′ में उनके सफल प्रदर्शन के लिए जाना जाता है. मोहिन्दर अमरनाथ को फाइनल और सेमीफाइनल मैच में उन्हें मैन ऑफ द मैच’ के खिताब से सम्मानित किया गया था.
8. तीरंदाज लिम्बा राम: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1963 में तीरंदाज लिम्बा राम का जन्म राजस्थान में उदयपुर ज़िले के सरादित गांव में हुआ था. लिम्बा बचपन में उदयपुर के जंगलों में शिकार किया करते थे. लिम्बा को तीरंदाजी की कला में निपुणता दिलाने का श्रेय स्पोर्ट्स अथॉरिटी ऑफ़ इंडिया को है, जिसने ‘स्पेशल एरिया मेमन प्रोग्राम’ के अन्तर्गत उन्हें प्रशिक्षण दिलवाया था. लिम्बा राम ने सीनियर राष्ट्रीय तीरंदाज़ी चैंपियनशिप में 50 मीटर तथा 30 मीटर वर्ग में राष्ट्रीय रिकार्ड बनाकर विजय हासिल की थी. लिम्बा राम ने वर्ष 1992 के बीजिंग एशियाई खेलों में 30 मीटर वर्ग में विश्व रिकॉर्ड बना कर स्वर्ण पदक अपने नाम कर लिया था. लिम्बा राम को वर्ष 1991 में ‘अर्जुन पुरस्कार’ प्रदान किया गया था.
9. गणितज्ञ और भौतिक विज्ञानी भूपति मोहन सेन: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1978 को गणितज्ञ और भौतिक विज्ञानी भूपति मोहन सेन का निधन कोलकता में हुआ था.
10. अभिनेत्री अश्लेषा सावंत:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1984 में अभिनेत्री अश्लेषा सावंत का जन्म पुणे महाराष्ट्र में हुआ था. अश्लेषा ने अपने अभिनय कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 2002 में स्टार प्लस के टीवी सीरियल “क्योंकि सास भी कभी बहू थी” से की थी. अश्लेषा फिल्म हरयाणा से अपने फ़िल्मी कैरियर की शुरुवात करने जा रहीं हैं.
11. अभिनेत्री सृष्टि रोडे: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1991 में अभिनेत्री सृष्टि रोडे का जन्म मुंबई, महाराष्ट्र में हुआ था. उनकी प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा सेंट लुईस कॉन्वेंट हाई स्कूल, मुंबई से हुई थी उन्होंने मीठीबाई कॉलेज, मुंबई से स्नातक किया है. सृष्टि ने अपने कैरियर की शुरुआत एक मॉडल के रूप में की थी. सृष्टि ने अपने अभिनय कैरियर की शुरुआत टीवी धारावाहिक ‘ये इश्क हाय’ से की थी.
12. अभिनेत्री पद्मिनी: – आज भी के दिन वर्ष 2006 में अभिनेत्री पद्मिनी का निधन चेन्नई में हुआ था.
13. लेफ़्टिनेंट कर्नल की मानद पदवी प्रदान की: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2008 को तत्कालीन थल सेनाध्यक्ष जनरल दीपक कपूर ने एक समारोह में कपिल देव को प्रादेशिक सेना में लेफ्टिनेंट कर्नल की मानद पदवी प्रदान की थी.
14. चाँद की सतह पर पानी खोज: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2009 में भारत के पहले चन्द्रयान-1 ने चांद की सतह पर पानी की खोज की थी.
15. मंगल ग्रह की कक्षा में सफलतापूर्वक प्रवेश किया: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2014 में भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (इसरो) के उपग्रह मंगलयान ने मंगल ग्रह की कक्षा में सफलतापूर्वक प्रवेश किया था.

1. Creation of Mayor Courts: – On this day in the year 1726, the East India Company authorized the creation of Municipal Corporation and Mayor Courts in Bombay, Calcutta and Madras.
2. Writer Pratap Narayan Mishra: – On this day in the year 1856, Pratap Narayan Mishra, the pioneer of Hindi Khari Boli and ‘Bharatendu era’, was born in a Katyayan Gotri and Kanyakubj Brahmin family in Vaize village in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh. His father’s name was Pandit Sankatdin who was an astrologer. Pratap Narayan started taking astrology lessons from his father, but seeing his disinterest, his father enrolled him in an English school. After the death of his father, Pratap Narayan’s education remained incomplete. Pratap Narayan used to read prose and poetry articles regularly since childhood. In the year 1883, exactly on the day of Holi, with the help of many of his friends, Mishra ji brought out a monthly magazine named ‘Brahmin’. Pratap Narayan Mishra ji had a place among the litterateurs of the Bharatendu period because of his liveliness, simplicity, pompousness and pompousness. Mishra Ji has made a big contribution to the development of Hindi prose.
3. Bhikaji Rustom Cama or ‘Madame Cama’: – On this day in the year 1861, Bhikaji Rustom Cama or ‘Madame Cama’ was born in a Parsi family in Mumbai. Madam Cama received education through English medium and was married to Rustam K. R. It happened with Kama. Madam Cama worked as a secretary to Dadabhai Naoroji. She was always worried about the independence of India. Madam Cama created an atmosphere in Favour of India’s independence by visiting London, Germany and America. In 1907, Madam Cama hoisted the tricolor at the Seventh International Congress in Stuttgart, Germany. Let us tell you that Madam Bhikaji Cama hoisted the first flag of India, it had green, saffron and red stripes and in that tricolor, 8 lotus flowers were the symbols of 8 states of India. ‘Vande Mataram’ was also written in the middle of that flag.
4. Medical scientist Avtar Singh Paintal: – On this day in the year 1925, medical scientist Avtar Singh Paintal was born in Mogok, Myanmar (Burma). After completing his primary education, Avtar Singh obtained a master’s degree in physiology from George Medical College, Lucknow. After that, he went to London in the year 1950 for higher education. There he obtained a Ph.D. degree from the University of Edinburgh. During his Ph.., he built electronic devices to study the electrical resistance of skin. His system later became famous as the Pental Index.
5. Pune Agreement: – On this day in the year 1932, with the efforts of leaders like Rajagopalachari, Jayakar, Tej Bahadur Sapru, Ghanshyam Das Birla etc., an agreement was signed between Mahatma Gandhi and Dalit leader Ambedkar. Under this agreement, ‘It was agreed to reserve seats for Dalits under the Joint Hindu Electoral System’. This agreement is also called the Poona Pact.
6. Female swimmer Aarti Saha: – On this day in the year 1940, female swimmer Aarti Saha was born in a Bengali Hindu family in Kolkata, West Bengal. His full name is Aarti Saha Gupta. His father’s name was Panchugopal Saha. Aarti Saha was the first female swimmer from India and Asia to swim across the English Channel. Aarti had accomplished this feat on September 29, 1959. Aarti Saha was the first Indian female player to receive ‘Padma Shri’.
7. Cricket player Mohinder Amarnath: – On this day in the year 1950, cricket player Mohinder Amarnath was born in the Patiala district of Punjab state. His father’s name was cricket player Lala Amarnath. In the year 1969, Mohinder Amarnath played his first match as a quick all-rounder against a fast bowler. But at the peak of his career, he always came as a top-order batsman. Mohinder Amarnath scored his first century in Perth, Australia. In the year 1982-83, India had to face a 3-0 defeat in the five-Test series against Pakistan, in that too Amarnath’s performance was amazing and he was joint ‘Man of the Series’ with Imran Khan. Amarnath is known for his successful performance in the ‘Cricket World Cup-1983’. Mohinder Amarnath was awarded the title of ‘Man of the Match’ in the final and semi-final matches.
8. Archer Limba Ram: – On this day in the year 1963, archer Limba Ram was born in Saradit village of Udaipur district in Rajasthan. Limba used to hunt in the forests of Udaipur in his childhood. The credit for making Limba proficient in the art of archery goes to the Sports Authority of India, which got him trained under the ‘Special Area Memon Programme’. Limba Ram had won the Senior National Archery Championship by making national records in the 50-meter and 30-meter categories. Limba Ram won the gold medal by making a world record in the 30-meter category in the 1992 Beijing Asian Games. Limba Ram was awarded the ‘Arjuna Award’ in the year 1991.
