1. सिक्खों के पहले गुरु गुरु नानक देव: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1539 में सिक्खों के पहले गुरु गुरु नानक देव का निधन करतारपुर (पकिस्तान) में हुआ था.
2. शारदा देवी: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1853 में रामकृष्ण परमहंस की जीवन संगिनी शारदा देवी का निधन कलकत्ता में हुआ था.
3. समाज सुधारक वी. एस. श्रीनिवास शास्त्री: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1869 में वी. एस. श्रीनिवास शास्त्री का जन्म ग्राम वालंगइमान (जिला तंजौर, कर्नाटक) में एक ग़रीब ब्राह्मण परिवार में हुआ था. श्रीनिवास शास्त्री शिक्षा की शिक्षा कुम्भकोणम के ‘नेटिव हाईस्कूल’ से हुई थी. श्रीनिवास शास्त्री ने राजनीतिक क्षेत्र में राजनितिक गुरु गोपालकृष्ण गोखले को माना था. वर्ष 1926 में उन्हें इसी कार्य के लिए दक्षिण अफ़्रीका भेजा गया और वर्ष 1927 में उन्हें वहां का एजेंट-जनरल नियुक्त किया गया था. वर्ष 1930-31 के दौरान उन्होंने भारत में संवैधानिक सुधारों के प्रस्तावों पर चर्चा के लिए लंदन में आयोजित गोलमेज़ सम्मेलनों में सक्रिय भागीदारी भी की थी. वर्ष 1935 -40 के दौरान श्रीनिवास शास्त्री ने मद्रास में अन्नामलाई विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति पद पर भी बने थे.
4. युद्धपोत इम्देन ने बमबारी की: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1914 में मद्रास बंदरगाह पर जर्मन युद्धपोत इम्देन ने बमबारी की थी.
5. ‘सिक्किम डेमोक्रेटिक फ्रंट’ के संस्थापक पवन कुमार चामलिंग: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1950 में ‘सिक्किम डेमोक्रेटिक फ्रंट’ के संस्थापक पवन कुमार चामलिंग का जन्म सिक्किम के एक छोटे और बेहद पिछ्ड़े गांव यंगयंग में हुआ था. उन्होंने सिर्फ मैट्रिक तक ही पढ़ाई की थी. चामलिंग नेपाली भाषा के एक सम्माननीय लेखक हैं. चामलिंग वर्ष 1973 में सक्रिय राजनीति से जुड़ गए थे. चामलिंग राजनीतिज्ञ होने के साथ-साथ एक बहुत अच्छे लेखक भी हैं. चामलिंग देश के पहले ऐसे व्यक्ति हैं जो किसी राज्य में लगातार पांच बार मुख्यमंत्री चुने गए हैं.
6. संयुक्त राष्ट्र की पहल पर युद्ध विराम हुआ: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1965 में भारत पाकिस्तान के बीच की लड़ाई में संयुक्त राष्ट्र की पहल पर युद्ध विराम हुआ था.
7. प्रदर्शनी मैच खेलने: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1977 में पेले के नेतृत्व में दो प्रदर्शनी मैच खेलने अमेरिकी फुटबॉल टीम कलकत्ता (अब कोलकाता) पहुंची थी.
8. अभिनेत्री रिद्धि डोगरा: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1984 में अभिनेत्री रिद्धि डोगरा का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम अशोक डोगरा और माँ का नाम  रेणु डोगरा है साथ ही उनके चाचा भारतीय जनता पार्टी के वरिष्ठ दिवंगत राज नेता अरुण जेटली हैं. रिद्धि ने नई दिल्ली के एपीजे स्कूल, शेख सराय में पढ़ाई की और कमला नेहरू कॉलेज से मनोविज्ञान (ऑनर्स) में स्नातक की उपाधि प्राप्त की है. रिद्धि ने अपने कैरियर की शुरुआत श्यामक डांसर डांस स्टूडियो में एक डांसर के रूप में की थी. उसके बाद उन्होंने वर्ष 2007 में धारावाहिक झूम जिया रे से अपने टेलीविजन कैरियर की शुरुआत की. टेलीविजन के अलावा अभिनेत्री रिद्धि ने वेब सीरीज में भी अभिनय किया है.
9. अभिनेत्री सना सईद: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1988 को अभिनेत्री सना सईद का जन्म मुंबई, महाराष्ट्र के एक मुस्लिम परिवार में हुआ था और उनके पिता का नाम अब्दुल सना ने मुंबई के एचआर कॉलेज ऑफ कॉमर्स एंड इकोनॉमिक्स से बैचलर ऑफ साइंस की शिक्षा प्राप्त की है. सना ने अपने फिल्मी कैरियर की शुरुआत बाल कलाकार के रूप में की थी. उनकी पहली फिल्म है – कुछ कुछ होता है. उन्होंने वर्ष 2012 में बॉलीवुड फिल्म स्टूडेंट ऑफ द ईयर से एक वयस्क अभिनेत्री के रूप में अपनी शुरुआत की थी.
10. अभिनेत्री दुर्गा खोटे: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1991 में हिन्दी व मराठी फ़िल्मों की अभिनेत्री दुर्गा खोटे का निधन मुंबई में हुआ था.
11. अमेरिका और फ्रांस की दस दिवसीय यात्रा: – आज ही के वर्ष 2008 प्रधानमंत्री डॉ.मनमोहन सिंह ने अमेरिका और फ्रांस की दस दिवसीय यात्रा पर रवाना हुए थे.

1. Guru Nanak Dev, the first Guru of the Sikhs: – On this day in the year 1539, the first Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Nanak Dev, died in Kartarpur (Pakistan).
2. Sharda Devi: – On this day in the year 1853, Sharda Devi, the life partner of Ramakrishna Paramhansa, died in Calcutta.
3. Social reformer V.S. Srinivas Shastri: – On this day in the year 1869, V.S. Srinivas Shastri was born in a poor Brahmin family in village Valangaiman (District Thanjavur, Karnataka). Srinivas Shastri received his education from ‘Native High School’ in Kumbakonam. Srinivas Shastri considered Gopalkrishna Gokhale as his political guru in the political field. In the year 1926, he was sent to South Africa for this work and in the year 1927, he was appointed Agent-General there. During the year 1930-31, he also took an active part in the Round Table Conferences held in London to discuss proposals for constitutional reforms in India. During the year 1935-40, Srinivas Shastri also held the post of Vice-Chancellor of Annamalai University in Madras.

He had studied only till matriculation. Chamling is a respected writer of Nepali language. Chamling joined active politics in the year 1973. Apart from being a politician, Chamling is also a very good writer. Chamling is the first person in the country to be elected Chief Minister of a state for five consecutive times.
