1. वरिष्ठ सेनापति जय सिंह:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1667 में आमेर के राजा तथा मुग़ल साम्राज्य के वरिष्ठ सेनापति (मिर्ज़ा राजा) जय सिंह का निधन बुरहानपुर, मध्य प्रदेश में हुआ था.
2. शायर फ़िराक़ गोरखपुरी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1896 में शायर फ़िराक़ गोरखपुरी का जन्म गोरखपुर, उत्तर प्रदेश में कायस्थ परिवार में हुआ था. उनका पूरा नाम रघुपति सहाय “फ़िराक़” है. उनकी शिक्षा अरबी, फ़ारसी और अंग्रेजी में हुई थी. फ़िराक़ गोरखपुरी ने कला स्नातक में पूरे प्रदेश में चौथा स्थान पाने के बाद आई.सी.एस. में चुने गये. वर्ष 1920 में नौकरी छोड़ कर स्वराज्य आंदोलन में कूद पड़े तथा डेढ़ वर्ष की जेल की सजा भी काटी. जेल से छूटने के बाद जवाहर लाल नेहरू ने उन्हें अखिल भारतीय कांग्रेस के दफ्तर में अवर सचिव की जगह दिला दी थी. नेहरू के यूरोप जाने के बाद पुनः इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय में वर्ष 1930- 59 तक अंग्रेजी के अध्यापक रहे. फ़िराक़ ने अपने साहित्यिक जीवन का श्रीगणेश ग़ज़ल से किया था. उर्दू शायरी का बड़ा हिस्सा रूमानियत, रहस्य और शास्त्रीयता से बँधा रहा है जिसमें लोक जीवन और प्रकृति के पक्ष बहुत कम ही उभर पाए हैं. फ़िराक़ गोरखपुरी को साहित्य एवं शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में वर्ष 1968 में भारत सरकार ने पद्म भूषण से सम्मानित किया था.
3. प्रथम कार रैली का आयोजन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1896 में कलकत्ता से बैरकपुर तक प्रथम कार रैली का आयोजन ऑटोमोबाइल एसोसिएशन ऑफ बंगाल ने किया था. यह रैली नहीं बल्कि सुखद यात्रा थीं जिनमें महाराज बहादुर सर जीतेनराव मोहन टैगोर के देसी अंदाज में बने घर पर चाय पार्टी के लिए पहुंचे थे.
4. पहली महिला पायलट आबिदा सुल्तान:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1913 में भारत की पहली महिला पायलट आबिदा सुल्तान (भोपाल सियासत की राजकुमारी) का जन्म भोपाल में हुआ था. उनके पिता हमीदुल्लाह ख़ान भोपाल रियासत के अंतिम नवाब थे. उनकी परवरिश दादी सुल्तान जहां बेगम ने किया था. अपनी दादी के अनुशासन में रहकर बहुत कम उम्र में ही आबिदा सुल्तान कार ड्राइविंग के अलावा घोड़े, पालतू चीतल जैसे जानवरों की सवारी और शूटिंग कौशल में पारंगत हो चुकी थी. उपमहाद्वीप के मुस्लिम राजनीति में सक्रिय भूमिका अदा करने वाली आबिदा सुल्तान ने अपने पिता हमीदुल्लाह ख़ान के कैबिनेट के अध्यक्ष और मुख्य सचिव की जिम्मेदारी भी संभाली थी. वर्ष 1949 में वे अखिल भारतीय महिला स्क्वैश की चैंपियन रहीं थी. आबिदा का निकाह 18 जून, 1926 को कुरवाई के नवाब सरवर अली ख़ान के साथ हुआ था. देश के विभाजन की उथल-पुथल के बाद सन् 1949 में उन्होंने भारत छोड़ दिया और पाकिस्तान चली गई.
5. पूर्व राज्यपाल टी.वी. राजेश्वर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1926 में उत्तर प्रदेश, पश्चिम बंगाल, सिक्किम के पूर्व राज्यपाल टी.वी. राजेश्वर का जन्म सलेम, तमिलनाडु में हुआ था. इन्होंने मद्रास विश्वविद्यालय के प्रेसीडेंसी कॉलेज से बी. ए. (आनर्स) तथा 1947 में अर्थशास्त्र में एम. ए. किया है. टी. वी. राजेश्वर वर्ष 1949 में भारतीय पुलिस सेवा में आये तथा पूर्व हैदराबाद रियासत में तैनात हुए थे. राज्यों के पुनर्गठन के बाद आन्ध्र प्रदेश संवर्ग में आये और निज़ामाबाद, रायचूर, तथा गुण्टूर जनपदों में पुलिस अधीक्षक थे. टी. वी. राजेश्वर वर्ष 1962 में सहायक निदेशक के रूप में इण्टेलीजेंस ब्यूरो में तैनात हुए. 1985 में टी. वी. राजेश्वर को सिक्किम का राज्यपाल बनाया गया और वे इस पद पर मार्च 1989 तक बने रहे. 8 जुलाई 2004 से 27 जुलाई 2009 तक टी. वी. राजेश्वर उत्तर प्रदेश के राज्यपाल थे.
6. सितार वादक विलायत ख़ाँ:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1928 में सितार वादक विलायत ख़ाँ का जन्म तत्कालीन पूर्वी बंगाल के गौरीपुर नामक स्थान पर एक संगीतकार परिवार में हुआ था. उनके पिता उस्ताद इनायत हुसैन ख़ाँ अपने समय के न केवल सुरबहार और सितार के विख्यात वादक थे, बल्कि सितार वाद्य को विकसित रूप देने में भी उनका काफ़ी योगदान था. इनके दादा उस्ताद इमदाद ख़ाँ अपने समय के रुद्र वीणा वादक थे. विलायत ख़ाँ की शुरुआती संगीत शिक्षा पिता इनायत ख़ाँ से प्राप्त की थी. जब विलायत ख़ाँ 12 वर्ष के थे तब उनके पिता का देहांत हो गया था. उसके बाद उनके चाचा वाहीद ख़ाँ ने उन्हें सितार वादन की शिक्षा दी थी साथ ही उनके नाना बन्दे हुसेन ख़ाँ और मामू जिन्दे हुसेन ख़ाँ से भी उन्हें गायन की शिक्षा प्राप्त हुई थी. विलायत ख़ाँ का झुकाव गायन की ओर ही था, किन्तु उनकी माँ ने उन्हें अपनी खानदानी परम्परा निभाने के लिए प्रेरित किया था. वर्ष 1993 में लन्दन के रॉयल फ़ेस्टिवल हॉल में आयोजित एक कार्यक्रम में ख़ाँ साहब ने ‘राग हमीर’ के वादन के दौरान पूरी बन्दिश का गायन भी प्रस्तुत कर दिया था. सितार वादन व संगीत के क्षेत्र में विलायत ख़ाँ के विशेष योगदान के लिए उन्हें वर्ष 1964 में ‘पद्मश्री’ और वर्ष 1968 में ‘पद्मविभूषण’ सम्मान दिये गए थे, किंतु उन्होंने ये कहते हुए कि भारत सरकार ने हिंदुस्तानी शास्त्रीय संगीत में उनके योगदान का समुचित सम्मान नहीं किया, दोनों सम्मान ठुकरा दिये थे.
7. इसरो के भूतपूर्व अध्यक्ष एम.जी.के. मेनन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1928 में भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन’ (इसरो) के भूतपूर्व अध्यक्ष एम. जी. के. मेनन का जन्म मंगलूर, कर्नाटक में हुआ था. प्रोफ़ेसर मेनन भारत में सभी तीनों विज्ञान अकादमियों के फ़ेलो हैं और वे प्रत्येक के अध्यक्ष रह चुके हैं. प्रोफ़ेसर मेनन ने ब्रह्मांडीय ब्रह्मांडी किरणों के अध्ययन के क्षेत्र में विशेष अन्वेषण किया है और विशेषकर प्राथमिक कणों की उच्च ऊर्जा परस्पर क्रिया के लिए वे विख्यात हैं. प्रोफ़ेसर मेनन ‘भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन’ (इसरो) के भूतपूर्व अध्यक्ष हैं साथ ही वे अंतरिक्ष विभाग, इसरो के परामर्शदाता भी हैं. प्रोफ़ेसर मेनन  ‘भारतीय सांख्यिकीय संस्थान’, कोलकाता के अध्यक्ष भी हैं.
8. आधुनिक साहित्यकार राजेंद्र यादव:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1928 में आधुनिक साहित्यकार राजेंद्र यादव का जन्म आगरा, उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ था. राजेंद्र यादव ने वर्ष 1951 ई. में आगरा विश्वविद्यालय से एम.ए. (हिन्दी) की परीक्षा प्रथम श्रेणी, प्रथम स्थान के साथ उत्तीर्ण की थी. बताते चलें कि, राजेंद्र यादव ने प्रेमचंद द्वारा वर्ष 1930 में प्रकाशित पत्रिका ‘हंस’ का पुर्नप्रकाशन आरम्भ करके साहित्यिक मूल्यों को एक नई दिशा दी थी. अपने 25 साल पूरे कर चुकी यह पत्रिका अपने अन्दर कहानी, कविता, लेख, संस्मरण, समीक्षा, लघुकथा, ग़ज़ल इत्यादि सभी विधाओं को उत्कृष्टता के साथ समेटे हुए है.
9. मानस पुत्री सरस्वती प्रसाद:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1932 में लेखिका सुमित्रानंदन पंत की मानस पुत्री सरस्वती प्रसाद का जन्म आरा शहर की एक संकरी सी गली के तिमंजिले मकान में हुआ था.
10. मुख्य न्यायाधीश जगदीश सिंह खेहर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1952 में मुख्य न्यायाधीश जगदीश सिंह खेहर का जन्म हुआ था. बताते चलें कि, जगदीश सिंह खेहर सिक्ख समुदाय से देश के मुख्य न्यायाधीश नियुक्त होने वाले प्रथम व्यक्ति हैं. जगदीश सिंह खेहर बेहद सख्त न्यायाधीश के रूप में जाने जाते हैं. मुख्य न्यायाधीश के रूप में इनका कार्यकाल 4 जनवरी, 2017 से 27 अगस्त, 2017 तक रहा था.
11. अभिनेता दीपक तिजोरी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1961 में अभिनेता दीपक तिजोरी का जन्म मुंबई में हुआ था. तिजोरी ने अपनी प्रारम्भिक पढ़ाई मुंबई से पूरी की है. उन्होंने अपनी स्नातक की पढ़ाई नरसी मोनजी कॉलेज से पूरी की. अभिनय में रुचि होने के कारण पढ़ाई के बाद तिजोरी ने एक थिएटर ज्वाइन कर लिया था. वहां उनकी मुलाकात आशुतोष गोविरकर, आमिर खान और विपुल शाह से हुई थी. अभिनेता बनने की चाहत में तिजोरी ने कई पापड़ बेले. तिजोरी ने अपने फिल्मी कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 1988 में फिल्म तेरा नाम मेरा नाम से की थी. उन्होंने कई हिंदी फिल्मों में बतौर सहायक अभिनेता भूमिका निभायी जो बेहद ही सफल रहीं या यूँ कहें कि सुपरहिट रहीं. तिजोरी ने फ़िल्म निर्देशन में भी अपने कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 2003 में एडल्ट फिल्म ऊप्स से की थी लेकिन, उन्हें बतौर निर्देशक हिंदी सिनेमा में पहचान फिल्म फरेब के जरिए मिली थी.
12. लोकसभा सांसद प्रिया दत्त:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1966 में पश्चिमी मुम्बई से लोकसभा सांसद प्रिया दत्त का जन्म हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम राजनीतिज्ञ व अभिनेता सुनील दत्त है. उनकी माँ का नाम अभिनेत्री नरगिस दत्त है. उनके बड़े भाई संजय दत्त भी बॉलीवुड के जाने माने अभिनेता हैं. प्रिया ने अपनी प्रारंभिक शिक्षा पूरी करने के बाद मुंबई विश्वविद्यालय के सोफिया कॉलेज से समाजशास्त्र में स्नातक की डिग्री हासिल की थी. प्रिया दत्त ने टेलीविजन प्रोडक्शन में सेंटर फॉर मीडिया आर्ट्स, न्यूयॉर्क सिटी, संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका से पोस्ट ग्रेजुएट डिप्लोमा भी किया था.
13. राष्ट्रीयकरण बिल:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1972 में साधारण बीमा कारोबार के राष्ट्रीयकरण बिल को पारित किया गया था.
14. अभिनेत्री रेशम टिपनिस:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1973 में अभिनेत्री रेशम तीपिंस का जन्म मुंबई में हुआ था. उनकी प्रारम्भिक पढ़ाई मुंबई से पूरी की है. रेशम टिपनिस की शादी संजीव सेठ से हुई थी लेकिन, शादी के कुछ सालों बाद ही दोनों का तलाक हो गया था. रेशम टिपनिस ने अपने फिल्मी कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 1992 फिल्म बाजीगर से की थी. टिपनिस हिंदी सिनेमा के अलावा कई टीवी शो में नजर आ चुकी हैं.
15. अभिनेत्री शिल्पा शिंदे:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1977 में अभिनेत्री शिल्पा शिंदे का जन्म मुंबई में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम डॉ सत्यदेव शिंदे हैं जो हाईकोर्ट के जज थे जबकि उनकी माँ गृहिणी थी. शिल्पा ने अपनी पढ़ाई मुंबई के के.सी कॉलेज से की, हालांकि डिग्री लेने में असफल रहीं, शिल्पा के पिता चाहते थे, कि वह लॉ की पढाई करें, लेकिन वह आगे पढ़ने की इच्छुक नहीं थी. शिल्पा शिंदे ने अपने कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 1999 में टेलीविजन की दुनिया में कदम रखा लेकिन, उनकी पहचान वर्ष 2015 में शिल्पा शिंदे एंड टीवी शो “भाभी जी घर पर है!” के अंगुरी भाभी की भूमिका से लोकप्रिय हुई थीं.
16. पहली महिला ग्रैंडमास्टर भाग्यश्री साठे:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1986 में भाग्यश्री साठे शतरंज की पहली महिला ग्रैंडमास्टर बनी थी.
17. मेजर समीर कोतवाल:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1986 में आसाम के एक उग्रवादियों गुट के साथ लडाई में मेजर समीर कोतवाल शहीद हो गये थे.
18. भारत-पाक सीमा पर गोलीबारी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2001 में भारत-पाक सीमा पर हुई गोलीबारी में पाकिस्तान के आठ (08) सैनिक मारे गये थे.
19. रुपये को प्रचलन से हटाने का निर्णय:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2008 में भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने 1999 और 2000 के सभी नोटो को प्रचलन से हटाने का निर्णय लिया था.

21. फोर्ब्स मैगजीन ने शक्तिशाली महिलाओं में शामिल किया:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2008 में अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर की प्रसिद्ध मैगजीन फोर्ब्स ने उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री मायावती को दुनिया की 100 सबसे शक्तिशाली महिलाओं में शामिल किया था.
22. लोकपाल आंदोलन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2008 में अन्ना हजारे ने भारतीय संसद द्वारा 3 मांगो के समर्थन का प्रस्ताव पारित करने के बाद दिल्ली के रामलीला मैदान में 13 दिनों से जारी अनशन को स्थगित करने की घोषणा की थी.
23. बैडमिंटन विश्व चैंपियनशिप में रजत पदक: – आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2016 में पी. वी. सिंधु ने बैडमिंटन विश्व चैंपियनशिप में रजत पदक जीता था.

1. Senior Commander Jai Singh:- On this day in the year 1667, Jai Singh, the King of Amer and the senior commander (Mirza Raja) of the Mughal Empire, died in Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh.
2. Poet Firaq Gorakhpuri:- On this day in the year 1896, poet Firaq Gorakhpuri was born in a Kayastha family in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. His full name is Raghupati Sahay “Firaq”. He was educated in Arabic, Persian, and English. Firaq Gorakhpuri after getting fourth place in the state in Bachelor of Arts, I.C.S. Elected to leave his job in the year 1920, he jumped into the Swarajya movement and was sentenced to one and a half years in jail. After being released from jail, Jawaharlal Nehru had given him the place of Under Secretary in the office of All India Congress. After Nehru went to Europe, he was again a teacher of English at Allahabad University from 1930-59. Firaq started his literary career with Ganesh Ghazal. A large part of Urdu poetry has been bound by romanticism, mystery, and classicalism, in which the aspects of folk life and nature have rarely emerged. Firaq Gorakhpuri was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in the year 1968 in the field of literature and education.
3. Organization of the first car rally:- On this day in the year 1896, the first car rally from Calcutta to Barrackpore was organized by the Automobile Association of Bengal. It was not a rally but a pleasant journey in which Maharaj Bahadur Sir Jitenrao Mohan reached for a tea party at the home built in the style of Mohan Tagore.
4. First woman pilot Abida Sultan:- On this day in the year 1913, India’s first woman pilot Abida Sultan (princess of Bhopal politics) was born in Bhopal. His father Hamidullah Khan was the last Nawab of the princely state of Bhopal. He was brought up by his grandmother Sultan Jahan Begum. Being under the discipline of her grandmother, at a very young age, Abida Sultan became proficient in car driving, horse riding, pet chital, and shooting skills. Abida Sultan, who played an active role in the Muslim politics of the subcontinent, also took over the responsibility of the chairman and chief secretary of her father Hamidullah Khan’s cabinet. In the year 1949, she was the champion of All India Women’s Squash. Abida’s marriage took place on June 18, 1926, with Nawab Sarwar Ali Khan of Kurwai. After the upheaval of the partition of the country, she left India in 1949 and went to Pakistan.
5. Former Governor T.V. Rajeshwar:- On this day in the year 1926, former Governor of Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Sikkim T.V. Rajeshwar was born in Salem, Tamil Nadu. He did his B.A. from Presidency College, University of Madras. A. (Hons) and M.A. in Economics in 1947. Have done. TV Rajeshwar joined the Indian Police Service in the year 1949 and was posted in the former princely state of Hyderabad. After the reorganization of states, came to the Andhra Pradesh cadre and was Superintendent of Police in the Nizamabad, Raichur, and Guntur districts. T. V. Rajeshwar was posted in the Intelligence Bureau in the year 1962 as Assistant Director. In 1985, T.V. Rajeshwar was made the Governor of Sikkim and he remained on this post till March 1989. From 8 July 2004 to 27 July 2009 T.V. Rajeshwar was the Governor of Uttar Pradesh.
6. Sitar player Vilayat Khan:- On this day in the year 1928, sitar player Vilayat Khan was born in a musician family at a place named Gauripur in then East Bengal. His father Ustad Inayat Hussain Khan was not only a famous Surbahar and Sitar player of his time, but he also contributed a lot to the development of the sitar instrument. His grandfather Ustad Imdad Khan was a Rudra Veena player of his time. Vilayat Khan’s early musical education was received from his father Inayat Khan. When Vilayat Khan was 12 years old, his father died. After that, his uncle Waheed Khan taught him to play the sitar, as well as he received singing lessons from his maternal grandfather Bande Hussain Khan and maternal uncle Jinde Hussain Khan. Vilayat Khan was inclined towards singing, but his mother inspired him to follow his family tradition. In the year 1993, in a program organized at the Royal Festival Hall in London, Khan Sahib also presented the singing of Puri Bandish while playing ‘Raag Hameer’. Vilayat Khan was awarded ‘Padma Shri’ in the year 1964 and ‘Padma Vibhushan’ in the year 1968 for his special contribution to the field of sitar playing and music, but he said that the Government of India did not give due recognition to his contribution to Hindustani classical music. Didn’t respect, both the respects were rejected.
7. Former ISRO Chairman M.G.K. Menon:- On this day in the year 1928, former President of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) M.G. Of. Menon was born in Mangalore, Karnataka. Professor Menon is a Fellow of all three Science Academies in India and has been President of each. Professor Menon has done special research in the field of study of cosmic cosmic rays and is especially known for high energy interactions of elementary particles. Professor Menon is the former chairman of the ‘Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and he is also a consultant to the Department of Space, ISRO. Professor Menon is also the President of ‘The Indian Statistical Institute’, Kolkata.
8. Modern litterateur Rajendra Yadav:- On this day in the year 1928, modern litterateur Rajendra Yadav was born in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Rajendra Yadav did his MA from Agra University in the year 1951 AD. (Hindi) examination with first class, first position. Let us tell that, Rajendra Yadav gave a new direction to literary values by starting the re-publication of the magazine ‘Hans’ published by Premchand in the year 1930. This magazine, which has completed its 25 years, boasts of excellence in all genres of stories, poems, articles, memoirs, reviews, short stories, ghazals, etc.
9. Manas daughter Saraswati Prasad:- On this day in the year 1932, writer Sumitranandan Pant’s daughter Saraswati Prasad was born in a three-story house in a narrow street of Ara city.
10. Chief Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar:- On this day in the year 1952, Chief Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar was born. Let us tell you that, Jagdish Singh Khehar is the first person from the Sikh community to be appointed as the Chief Justice of the country. Jagdish Singh Khehar is known as a very strict judge. His tenure as Chief Justice was from January 4, 2017, to August 27, 2017.
11. Actor Deepak Tijori:- On this day in the year 1961, actor Deepak Tijori was born in Mumbai. Tijori has completed his early studies in Mumbai. He completed his graduation from Narsee Monjee College. Due to his interest in acting, Tijori joined a theater after his studies. There he met Ashutosh Govirkar, Aamir Khan, and Vipul Shah. In his desire to become an actor, Tijori rolled many papads. Tijori started his film career in the year 1988 with the film Tera Naam Mera Naam. He acted as a supporting actor in many Hindi films which were very successful or rather super hit. Tijori also started his career in film direction in the year 2003 with the adult film Oops, but he got recognition as a director in Hindi cinema through the film Fareb.
12. Lok Sabha MP Priya Dutt:- On this day in the year 1966, Lok Sabha MP Priya Dutt from West Mumbai was born. His father’s name is politician and actor Sunil Dutt. His mother’s name is actress Nargis Dutt. His elder brother Sanjay Dutt is also a well-known Bollywood actor. After completing her early education, Priya obtained a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Sophia College, University of Mumbai. Priya Dutt also did a Post Graduate Diploma in Television Production from the Center for Media Arts, New York City, United States.
13. Nationalization Bill: – On this day in the year 1972, the nationalization bill of general insurance business was passed.
14. Actress Resham Tipnis: – On this day in the year 1973, actress Resham Tipnis was born in Mumbai. He has completed his initial studies in Mumbai. Resham Tipnis was married to Sanjeev Seth but both of them got divorced after a few years of marriage. Resham Tipnis started his film career in the year 1992 with the film Baazigar. Apart from Hindi cinema, Tipnis has appeared in many TV shows.
15. Actress Shilpa Shinde:- On this day in the year 1977, actress Shilpa Shinde was born in Mumbai. His father’s name is Dr. Satyadev Shinde who was a High Court judge while his mother was a homemaker.
