1. चित्तौड़गढ़ पर क़ब्ज़ा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1303 में अलाउद्दीन ख़िलजी ने चित्तौड़गढ़ पर क़ब्ज़ा किया था. बताते चलें कि, ख़िलज़ी ने रानी पद्मावती की सुंदरता के चर्चे सुनकर चित्तौड़गढ़ पर हमला किया ताकि वो रानी को हासिल कर सके.
2. उपन्यासकार चतुरसेन शास्त्री:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1891 में हिन्दी साहित्य के उपन्यासकार चतुरसेन शास्त्री का जन्म चांदोख ज़िला बुलन्दशहर, उत्तर प्रदेश में हुआ था. इनका अधिकतर लेखन ऐतिहासिक घटनाओं पर आधारित है. इनकी प्रमुख कृतियां गोली, सोमनाथ, वयं रक्षामः और वैशाली की नगरवधू इत्यादि हैं। ‘आभा’, इनकी पहली रचना थी.
3. मदर टेरेसा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1910 में भारत रत्न से सम्मानित मदर टेरेसा का जन्म यूगोस्लाविया में हुआ था. मदर टेरेसा का असली नाम ‘अगनेस गोंझा बोयाजिजू’ था. उनके पिता का नाम निकोला बोयाजू था जो एक साधारण व्यवसायी थे. अगनेस के पिता उनके बचपन में ही मर गए, बाद में उनका लालन-पालन उनकी माता ने किया था. अगनेस एक सुन्दर जीवंत, अध्ययनशील एवं परिश्रमी लड़की थीं. पढ़ना, गीत गाना उन्हें विशेष पसंद था. अगनेस को एक नया नाम ‘सिस्टर टेरेसा’ दिया गया जो इस बात का संकेत था कि वह एक नया जीवन शुरू करने जा रही हैं. सिस्टर टेरेसा तीन अन्य सिस्टरों के साथ आयरलैंड से एक जहाज में बैठकर 6 जनवरी, 1929 को कोलकाता में ‘लोरेटो कॉन्वेंट’ पहुंचीं. वर्ष 1944 में वह सेंट मैरी स्कूल की प्रधानाचार्या बन गईं थी. मदर टेरेसा ने आवश्यक नर्सिग ट्रेनिंग पूरी की और 1948 में वापस कोलकाता आ गईं और वहां से पहली बार तालतला गई, जहां वह ग़रीब बुजुर्गो की देखभाल करने वाली संस्था के साथ रहीं. मदर टेरेसा ने ‘निर्मल हृदय’ और ‘निर्मला शिशु भवन’ के नाम से आश्रम खोले, जिनमें वे असाध्य बीमारी से पीड़ित रोगियों व ग़रीबों की स्वयं सेवा करती थीं.
4. ब्रिटिश बेडे पर हमला कर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1914 में बंगाल के क्रांतिकारियों ने कलकत्ता में ब्रिटिस बेडे पर हमला कर 50 माउजर और 46 हजार राउंड गोलियां लूटी थी.
5. स्वतन्त्रता सेनानी बंसीलाल:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1927 में हरियाणा के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री और स्वतन्त्रता सेनानी बंसीलाल का जन्म हरियाणा के भिवानी ज़िले में एक तत्कालीन लोहारू रियासत में एक सम्पन्न परिवार में हुआ था. बंसीलाल के पिता बच्चों की अधिक शिक्षा के पक्ष में नहीं थे. आरम्भिक शिक्षा के बाद 14 वर्ष की उम्र में ही बंसीलाल को अनाज के व्यापार में लगा दिया. पिता की अनुमति न मिलने पर भी बंसीलाल ने अध्ययन जारी रखा और वर्ष 1952 तक प्राइवेट परीक्षाएँ देते हुए बी.ए. पास कर लिया. उन्होंने वर्ष 1956 में पंजाब विश्वविद्यालय से क़ानून की डिग्री ले ली. भिवानी में वकालत करते हुए बंसीलाल पिछड़े हुए किसानों के नेता बन गए. वर्ष  1960 में वे राज्यसभा के सदस्य चुने गए. राज्यसभा की सदस्यता का कार्यकाल पूरा होने पर वे हरियाणा की राजनीति में वापस आ गए और वर्ष 1967 -75 तक विधान सभा के सदस्य रहे. वर्ष 1968 में वे हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री बने और वर्ष 1975 तक रहने के बाद इंदिरा गांधी ने उन्हें रक्षामंत्री बना दिया. बंसीलाल 5 जून, 1986 से 19 जून, 1987 तक 11 मई, 1996 से 23 जुलाई, 1999 तक तीसरी और चौथी बार मुख्यमंत्री नियुक्त किये गये थे.
6. हीरो साइकिल के सह संस्थापक ओम प्रकाश मंजुल:-आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1928 में हीरो साइकिल के सह संस्थापक ओम प्रकाश मंजुल का जन्म हुआ था.
7. कवि और संगीतकार अतुल प्रसाद सेन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1934 में विधिवेत्ता, तथा बांग्ला भाषा के कवि और संगीतकार अतुल प्रसाद सेन का निधन हुआ था.
8. राजनेत्री मेनका गाँधी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1956 में राजनेत्री मेनका गाँधी का जन्म दिल्ली में हुआ था. उनकी शिक्षा लारेंस स्कूल, सनवर तथा तदोपरान्त लेडी श्रीराम कालेज, नयी दिल्ली में हुई थी. उनके पति का नाम संजय गाँधी(जो पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री इंदिरा गांधी के छोटे बेटे.) हैं. मेनका गांधी एक जानी-मानी पर्यावरणवादी कार्यकर्ता हैं. वर्ष 1992 में उन्होने पीपल फार अनिमल्स नामक एक गैर्-सरकारी संगठन आरम्भ किया जो पूरे भारत में (पशु) आश्रय चलाता है.
9. साहित्यकार दिनेश रघुवंशी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1964 में साहित्यकार दिनेश रघुवंशी का जन्म ग्राम ख़ैरपुर, बुलन्दशहर ज़िला, (उत्तर प्रदेश) में हुआ था.
10. सहायक अभिनेता इंद्र कुमार:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1972 में सहायक अभिनेता इंद्र कुमार का जन्म जयपुर, राजस्थान में हुआ था. उन्होंने अपने फिल्मी कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 1996 में फ़िल्म ‘मासूम’ से किया था. वर्ष 2017 में आई ‘हु इज द फ़र्स्ट वाइफ़ ऑफ़ माई फ़ादर’ उनकी आखिरी फ़िल्म थी. इंद्र कुमार के कैरियर में वह दौर भी आया, जब वर्ष 2014 में उन पर बलात्कार का आरोप लगा था और आरोप साबित होने के बाद जेल भी गए थे.
11. स्वतंत्रता सेनानी एन. एस. हार्डिकर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1975 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी तथा ‘हिन्दुस्तानी सेवादल’ के संस्थापक एन. एस. हार्डिकर का निधन हुआ था.
12. अभिनेत्री नीरू बाजवा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1980 में अभिनेत्री नीरू बाजवा का जन्म वैंकूवर, ब्रिटिश कोलंबिया, कनाडा में हुआ था. उन्होंने अपने कैरियर की शुरुआत देव आनंद की फिल्म ‘मैं सोलह बरस की’ से की थी. उसके बाद उन्होंने फिल्म में काम करने लगी. कुछ समय बाद वो टेलीविजन की कई सीरियलों में भी काम किया.
13. नई पार्टी प्रजा राज्यम का उद्घाटन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2008 में तेलुगु फ़िल्मों के सुपर स्टार चिरंजीवी ने अपनी नई पार्टी प्रजा राज्यम का उद्घाटन किया था.
14. अभिनेता ए. के. हंगल:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2012 में अभिनेता ए. के. हंगल का निधन मुंबई में हुआ था.

1. Capture of Chittorgarh: – On this day in the year 1303, Alauddin Khilji captured Chittorgarh. Let’s say that, hearing about the beauty of Queen Padmavati, Khilji attacked Chittorgarh so that he could get the queen.
2. Novelist Chatursen Shastri:- On this day in the year 1891, Hindi literature novelist Chatursen Shastri was born in Chandokh district Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. Most of his writings are based on historical events. His main works are Goli, Somnath, Vayam Rakshamah Vaishali’s Nagarvadhu, etc. ‘Aura’ was his first composition.
3. Mother Teresa: – On this day in the year 1910, the Bharat Ratna awarded Mother Teresa was born in Yugoslavia. Mother Teresa’s real name was ‘Agnes Gonjha Boyajiju’. His father’s name was Nikola Boyaju he was a simple businessman. Agnes’s father died in her childhood, later she was brought up by her mother. Agnes was a beautiful, lively, studious, and hardworking girl. He especially liked reading and singing. Agnes was given a new name ‘Sister Teresa’ which was a sign that she was going to start a new life. Sister Teresa, along with three other sisters, boarded a ship from Ireland and reached the Loreto Convent in Kolkata on January 6, 1929. In the year 1944, she became the principal of St. Mary’s School. Mother Teresa completed the necessary nursing training and returned to Calcutta in 1948, and from there first to Taltala, where she lived with an organization that took care of the poor elderly. Mother Teresa opened ashrams in the name of ‘Nirmal Hriday’ and ‘Nirmala Shishu Bhavan’, in which she volunteered for patients suffering from incurable diseases and the poor.
4. Attacking the British fleet: – On this day in the year 1914, the revolutionaries of Bengal looted 50 mousers and 46 thousand rounds of bullets by attacking the British fleet in Calcutta.
5. Freedom Fighter Bansilal:- On this day in the year 1927, former Chief Minister of Haryana and freedom fighter Bansilal was born in a prosperous family in the then Loharu princely state of Bhiwani district of Haryana. Bansilal’s father was not in favor of more education for the children. After early education, at the age of 14, Bansilal was engaged in the grain business. Despite not getting his father’s permission, Bansilal continued his studies and by the year 1952, while taking private examinations, B.A. had passed. He took a law degree from Punjab University in the year 1956. While practicing law in Bhiwani, Bansilal became the leader of backward farmers. In the year 1960, he was elected a member of the Rajya Sabha. After the completion of his term of Rajya Sabha membership, he returned to Haryana politics and was a member of the Legislative Assembly from 1967 to 1975. In the year 1968, he became the Chief Minister of Haryana and after staying till the year 1975, Indira Gandhi made him the Defense Minister. Bansilal was appointed Chief Minister for the third and fourth time from June 5, 1986, to June 19, 1987, from May 11, 1996 to July 23, 1999.
6. Hero Cycles co-founder Om Prakash Manjul:- On this day in the year 1928, Hero Cycles co-founder Om Prakash Manjul was born.
7. Poet and musician Atul Prasad Sen:- On this day in the year 1934, jurist, and Bengali language poet and musician Atul Prasad Sen passed away.
8. Politician Maneka Gandhi: – On this day in the year 1956, Politician Maneka Gandhi was born in Delhi. She was educated at Lawrence School, Sanwar, and later at Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi. Her husband’s name is Sanjay Gandhi (who is the younger son of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.). Maneka Gandhi is a well-known environmentalist activist. In the year 1992, he started a non-governmental organization called People for Animals, which runs animal shelters across India.
9. Writer Dinesh Raghuvanshi:- On this day in the year 1964, writer Dinesh Raghuvanshi was born in Khairpur village, Bulandshahr district, (Uttar Pradesh).
10. Supporting Actor Indra Kumar:- On this day in the year 1972, Supporting Actor Indra Kumar was born in Jaipur, Rajasthan. He started his film career in the year 1996 with the film ‘Masoom’. Who is the First Wife of My Father, which came in the year 2017, was his last film. There was also a phase in Indra Kumar’s career when he was accused of rape in the year 2014 and went to jail after the charges were proven.
11. Freedom fighter N. S. Hardikar:- On this day in the year 1975, freedom fighter and founder of ‘Hindustani Seva Dal’ N. S. Hardiker passed away.
12. Actress Neeru Bajwa:- On this day in the year 1980, actress Neeru Bajwa was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He started his career with Dev Anand’s film Main Solah Baras Ki. After that, she started working in the film. After some time he also worked in many television serials.
13. Inauguration of new party Praja Rajyam:- On this day in the year 2008, Telugu film superstar Chiranjeevi inaugurated his new party Praja Rajyam.
14. Actor A. Of. Hangal:- On this day in the year 2012, actor A. Of. Hangal died in Mumbai.
