1. तुग़लक़ तृतीया की ताजपोशी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1351में सुलतान फिरोजशाह तुग़लक़ तृतीया की ताजपोशी थट्टा के निकट हुआ था.
2. पहली बार किंग्स कमीशन मिला:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1917 में ब्रिटिश इंडिया आर्मी में सेवाएं दे रहे सात (07) भारतीयों को पहली बार किंग्स कमीशन मिला था. यह पहला पुख्ता कदम था, जब ब्रिटिश इंडियन आर्मी का भारतीयकरण हुआ था क्योंकि कमीशन रैंक के अफसर सेना में आला मुकाम हुआ करते थे.
3. राजनीतिज्ञ बी. पी. मंडल:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1918 में बिहार के भूतपूर्व सातवें मुख्यमंत्री बी. पी. मंडल का जन्म मधेपुरा, बिहार में हुआ था. उनका पूरा नाम बिन्देश्वरी प्रसाद मंडल है. उनके पिता रास बिहारी लाल मंडल था. बिन्देश्वरी प्रसाद के जन्म के अगले ही दिन उनके पिता का देहांत हो गया था. बी. पी. मंडल का ताल्लुक बिहार के मधेपुरा ज़िले के मुरहो गांव के एक जमींदार परिवार से था. मधेपुरा से पंद्रह किलोमीटर की दूरी पर बसा है मुरहो गांव. इस गांव में किराई मुसहर जाति के लोग रहते है. बी. पी. मंडल की शुरुआती पढ़ाई मुरहो और मधेपुरा में हुई उसके बाद हाई स्कूल की पढ़ाई दरभंगा स्थित राज हाई स्कूल से की थी. स्कूल के दिनों से बी. पी. मंडल पिछड़ों के हक़ में आवाज़ उठाना शुरू कर दिया था. पढ़ाई पूरी करने के बाद उन्होंने कुछ दिन तक भागलपुर में मजिस्ट्रेट के रूप में भी सेवाएं दीं और वर्ष 1952 में भारत में हुए पहले आम चुनाव में वे मधेपुरा से कांग्रेस के टिकट पर बिहार विधानसभा के सदस्य बने थे. वर्ष 1968 में बी. पी. मंडल  बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री बने लेकिन, इस पद पर वे महज पचास दिन तक ही रहे. वर्ष 1979  में  मोरारजी देसाई की सरकार ने मंडल आयोग का गठन का किया और उसकी रिपोर्ट  इंदिरा गांधी के कार्यकाल के दौरान 31 दिसंबर 1980 को सौंपी गई थी. मंडल आयोग की सिफारिशों के आधार पर पहले वर्ष 1990 में पिछड़ा वर्ग को नौकरियों में आरक्षण मिला और बाद में मनमोहन सिंह की सरकार के कार्यकाल के दौरान वर्ष 2006 में उच्च शिक्षा में ये व्यवस्था लागू की गई थी.
4. पाँचवीं लोकसभा के सदस्य बाबूराव काले:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1926 में पाँचवीं लोकसभा के सदस्य बाबूराव काले का जन्म हुआ था.
5. राज्य सभा के भूतपूर्व महासचिव विवेक कुमार अग्निहोत्री:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1945 में विवेक कुमार अग्निहोत्री का जन्म मध्यप्रदेश के ग्वालियर में हुआ था.
6. ग्यारहवीं लोकसभा की सदस्य लुईस इस्लेरी:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1948 में लुईस इस्लेरी का जन्म बेंगताल, कोकराझार जिला, असम में हुआ था.
7. अभिनेता विजयकान्त:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1952 में विजयकान्त का जन्म तिरुमंगलम, मदुरई में हुआ था.
8. राजनीतिज्ञ सुभाष सरकार:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1953 में भारतीय जनता पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेता सुभाष सरकार का जन्म हुआ था.
9. पोलो टीम ने विश्व कप जीता:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1957 में फ्रांस में हुई पोलो वर्ल्ड चैम्पियनशिप का ताज भारत ने जीता था.
10. अभिनेता राजीव कपूर:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1957 में अभिनेता राजीव कपूर का जन्म चेम्बूर मुंबई में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम अभिनेता राज कपूर उनके माता का नाम कृष्णा कपूर है.. पृथ्वीराज कपूर उनके पितामह थे वहीं, शम्मी कपूर और शशि कपूर उनके चाचा थे. उनके बड़े भाई रणधीर कपूर और ऋषि कपूर भी बॉलीवुड अभिनेता हैं. राजीव ने अपने फिल्मी कैरियर की शुरुआत वर्ष 1985 में अपने पिता की अंतिम निर्देशित फिल्म राम तेरी गंगा मैली में मुख्य भूमिका निभाई थी. आगे जाकर उन्होंने कई फिल्मों में काम किया लेकिन वो सफलता प्राप्त नहीं कार पाए तब उन्होंने उत्पादन और निर्देशन की ओर रुख कर कई सफल फिल्मों का निर्माण किया था.
11. शायर मख़दूम मोहिउद्दीन:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1957 में शायर मख़दूम मोहिउद्दीन का निधन हैदराबाद, आंध्र प्रदेश में हुआ था.
12. साहित्यकार हरिभाऊ उपाध्याय:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1972 में साहित्यकार हरिभाऊ उपाध्याय का निधन हुआ था.
13. सागर से हिमालय अभियान:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1977 में सर एडमंड हिलेरी ने अपने दोस्तों के साथ भारत की पवित्र गंगा नदी को पार करने के लिए ओशिएन टू स्काई यात्रा हल्दिया बंदरगाह से शुरू की थी.
14. महिला पहलवान विनेश फोगाट:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 1977 में महिला पहलवान विनेश फोगाट का जन्म हरियाणा के भिवानी ज़िले के बलाली गाँव में पहलवानों के परिवार में हुआ था. उन्होंने अपने चाचा महावीर सिंह फोगाट से प्रशिक्षण प्राप्त किया. वर्ष 2014 के राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों में स्वर्ण पदक जीत कर अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर अपने आगमन की घोषणा की. फोगाट ने नई दिल्ली में वर्ष 2013 एशियाई कुश्ती चैंपियनशिप में 52 किलोग्राम भार वर्ग में कांस्य पदक जीता और इसके बाद दक्षिण अफ़्रीका के जोहानसबर्ग में राष्ट्रमंडल कुश्ती चैंपियनशिप में 51 किलो भार वर्ग में रजत पदक हासिल किया था. 48 किलो भार वर्ग में इस युवा पहलवान ने ग्लासगो के वर्ष 2014 के राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों में अपना पहला अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्वर्ण पदक हासिल किया था.
15. कार में बम विस्फोट:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2003 में मुंबई के गेटवे ऑफ़ इंडिया और मुंबी देवी मंदिर के पास हुए कार बम विस्फोट में 50 से ज़्यादा लोगों की मौत हो गई तथा 150 से अधिक घायल हुए थे.
16. छात्रों को बीमा:- आज ही के दिन वर्ष 2008 में मध्य प्रदेश सरकार ने सरकारी स्कूलों के सभी छात्रों को बीमा करने का अनुरोध किया था.

1. Coronation of Tughlaq Tritiya: – On this day in the year 1351, Sultan Firoz Shah Tughlaq Tritiya was crowned near Thatta.
2. Received King’s Commission for the first time: – On this day in the year 1917, seven (07) Indians serving in the British India Army received the King’s Commission for the first time. This was the first concrete step when the Indianization of the British Indian Army took place as commissioned rank officers used to hold a high position in the army.
3. Politician B. P. Mandal:- On this day in the year 1918, the former seventh Chief Minister of Bihar B. P. Mandal was born in Madhepura, Bihar. His full name is Bindeshwari Prasad Mandal. His father was Ras Bihari Lal Mandal. The very next day of Bindeshwari Prasad’s birth, his father died. B. P. Mandal belonged to a landlord family of Murho village in Madhepura district of Bihar. Murho village is situated at a distance of fifteen kilometers from Madhepura. People of the Kirai Musahar caste live in this village. B. P. Mandal’s early studies were done in Murho and Madhepura, after that he did his high school studies at Raj High School, Darbhanga. From school days B. P. Mandal had started raising their voice in favor of backward people. After completing his studies, he also served as a magistrate in Bhagalpur for a few days, and in the first general election held in India in 1952, he became a member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly on a Congress ticket from Madhepura. In the year 1968, B. P. Mandal became the Chief Minister of Bihar, but he stayed in this post only for fifty days. In the year 1979, the government of Morarji Desai constituted the Mandal Commission and its report was submitted on 31 December 1980 during the tenure of Indira Gandhi. Based on the recommendations of the Mandal Commission, the backward classes got reservations in jobs in the first year of 1990 and later this system was implemented in higher education in the year 2006 during the tenure of Manmohan Singh’s government.

13. Sea to Himalaya Expedition:- On this day in the year 1977, Sir Edmund Hillary along with his friends started the Ocean to Sky journey from Haldia port to cross the holy river Ganges of India.
14. Female wrestler Vinesh Phogat:- On this day in the year 1977, female wrestler Vinesh Phogat was born in a family of wrestlers in Balali village of Bhiwani district of Haryana. He received training from his uncle Mahavir Singh Phogat. He announced his arrival at the international level by winning the gold medal in the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Phogat won a bronze medal in the 52 kg category at the 2013 Asian Wrestling Championships in New Delhi and followed it up with a silver medal in the 51 kg category at the Commonwealth Wrestling Championships in Johannesburg, South Africa. This young wrestler won his first international gold medal in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in the 48 kg weight category.
15. Car bomb blast:- On this day in the year 2003, more than 50 people died and more than 150 were injured in a car bomb blast near the Gateway of India and Mumbi Devi Temple in Mumbai.
