सनातन संस्कृति की बात ही अलग है. विश्व भर नव वर्ष की धूम पर रंग-बिरंगी आतिशबाजी, कानफोड़ू संगीत के साथ नव वर्ष मनाया जाता है जिससे रसायनिक कचरा वायु में घुल-मिल जाती है वहीँ, सनातन संस्कृति में नव वर्ष की शुरुआत होते ही जप, ध्यान, उपवास और हवन से शुरू करते हैं जो प्रदूषण से मुक्त करने में सहायक होती है. सनातन संस्कृति में नववर्ष की शुरुआत चैत महीने से होती है और चैत महीने के शुक्ल पक्ष की नवमी को भगवान श्रीराम के जन्मोत्सव के रूप में मनाया जाता है. जिसे हम सभी रामनवमी के नाम से जानते हैं. रामनवमी को पूरे भारतवर्ष में भव्य रूप से मनाया जाता है और यह उत्सव धर्म, सदाचार, और सत्य के प्रति समर्पण का प्रतीक है.
रामनवमी, चैत्र मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की नवमी तिथि को मनाया जाता है. यह दिन मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम भगवान श्रीराम के जन्म के उपलक्ष्य में मनाया जाता है, जिनका जन्म अयोध्या नगरी में राजा दशरथ और रानी कौशल्या के घर हुआ था. भगवान राम को विष्णु के सातवें अवतार के रूप में पूजा जाता है. वे सत्य, धर्म, कर्तव्य और मर्यादा के प्रतीक हैं. उन्होंने सत्य और धर्म के मार्ग पर चलकर अधर्म का नाश किया और मानवता को आदर्श जीवन जीने की शिक्षा दी. पौराणीक ग्रंथ वाल्मीकि रामायण और तुलसीदास रचित रामचरितमानस के अनुसार, जब अयोध्या के राजा दशरथ संतान की प्राप्ति के लिए यज्ञ कराते हैं, तब उन्हें प्रसाद स्वरूप खीर प्राप्त होती है जिसे उन्होंने अपनी रानियों में बाँटा. इससे रानी कौशल्या के गर्भ से भगवान राम का जन्म हुआ था.

चैत्र मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की नवमी तिथि को मंदिरों में श्रीराम, माता सीता, और लक्ष्मण की मूर्तियों को स्नान कराकर नए वस्त्र पहनाए जाते हैं और पूजा-अर्चना की जाती है व शोभायात्राएं निकाली जाती हैं जिसमें श्रीराम की झांकियां प्रस्तुत की जाती हैं. आज के दिन भगवान् श्रीराम की बाल रूप की पूजा करते हैं और रामायण का पाठ करके उनकी महिमा गाते हैं.

The New Year is celebrated all over the world with colourful fireworks and ear-splitting music, which causes chemical waste to dissolve in the air, whereas in the Sanatan culture, as soon as the New Year begins, people start with chanting, meditation, fasting and havan, which helps in getting rid of pollution. In the Sanatan culture, the New Year begins with the month of Chaitra and the Navami of the Shukla Paksha of the month of Chaitra is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Ram. Which we all know as Ram Navami. Ram Navami is celebrated grandly all over India and this festival is a symbol of religion, virtue, and dedication towards truth.
Ram Navami is celebrated on the Navami Tithi of the Shukla Paksha of the month of Chaitra. This day is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram, who was born in the city of Ayodhya to King Dasharath and Queen Kaushalya. Lord Ram is worshipped as the seventh incarnation of Vishnu. He is a symbol of truth, religion, duty and dignity. He destroyed unrighteousness by following the path of truth and religion and taught humanity to live an ideal life. According to the mythological text Valmiki Ramayana and Tulsidas’ Ramcharitmanas, when King Dasharath of Ayodhya performed a yajna to get a child, he received kheer as prasad which he distributed among his queens. Lord Ram was born from the womb of Queen Kaushalya.
Ram Navami is not just a religious festival, but it also highlights the cultural unity and moral values of India. Lord Ram’s life is full of the ideals of truth, patience, service, duty and justice. His character is still a guide for humanity. In the present times when moral values are eroding, the relevance of Ram Navami increases even more. This festival inspires us to follow the path of virtue, restraint and religion in life. It also provides an opportunity to strengthen family and social relations.
On the Navami Tithi of the Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month, the idols of Shri Ram, Mata Sita, and Lakshman are bathed and dressed in new clothes and worship is performed and processions are taken out in which tableaux of Shri Ram are presented. On this day, the child form of Lord Shri Ram is worshipped and his glory is sung by reciting the Ramayana.
Ram Navami is not only a religious festival, but it is also a festival of social unity and cultural awakening. This festival provides an opportunity to bring all communities together and strengthen morality and values.
