प्रवासी भारतीय दिवस

प्रवासी भारतीय दिवस हर वर्ष 09 जनवरी को मनाया जाता है. यह दिन विदेशों में रहने वाले भारतीयों और भारत के बीच सामाजिक, सांस्कृतिक और आर्थिक संबंधों को मजबूत करने के लिए समर्पित है. इस दिवस का उद्देश्य प्रवासी भारतीयों के योगदान को सम्मानित करना और उन्हें भारत के विकास में भागीदार बनाना है.

महात्मा गांधी, जो भारतीय स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के महानायक थे, 9 जनवरी 1915 को दक्षिण अफ्रीका से भारत लौटे थे. उनकी वापसी ने भारतीय स्वतंत्रता संग्राम को नई दिशा दी. इस ऐतिहासिक घटना को चिह्नित करने के लिए 9 जनवरी को प्रवासी भारतीय दिवस मनाया जाता है. प्रवासी भारतीयों ने आर्थिक, सामाजिक, और सांस्कृतिक रूप से भारत को मजबूती प्रदान की है. यह दिवस उन्हें भारत के साथ जोड़ने और उनकी उपलब्धियों को सराहने का अवसर है.

बताते चलें कि , प्रवासी भारतीय दिवस पहली बार वर्ष 2003 में भारत सरकार द्वारा मनाया गया। इसकी शुरुआत तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी के कार्यकाल में हुई थी. वर्ष 2015 के बाद से इसे हर दो साल में बड़े स्तर पर मनाया जाता है. हर बार प्रवासी भारतीय दिवस की एक खास थीम होती है, जो भारत और प्रवासी भारतीयों के संबंधों को नया आयाम देने के उद्देश्य को दर्शाती है. वर्ष 2023 की थीम थी: “Diaspora: Reliable Partners for India’s Progress in Amrit Kaal” जबकि वर्ष 2025 की थीम है  “विकसित भारत में प्रवासी भारतीयों का योगदान”.

प्रवासी भारतीय दिवस का 18वां सम्मेलन 8 से 10 जनवरी 2025 तक ओडिशा की राजधानी भुवनेश्वर में आयोजित होगा. यह सम्मेलन भारत और विश्वभर में बसे भारतीय समुदाय के बीच संबंधों को मजबूत करने और उनके योगदान को सम्मानित करने का महत्वपूर्ण मंच प्रदान करेगा.

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated every year on 09 January. This day is dedicated to strengthening social, cultural and economic relations between Indians living abroad and India. The purpose of this day is to honour the contribution of overseas Indians and make them partners in the development of India.

Mahatma Gandhi, the great hero of the Indian freedom struggle, returned to India from South Africa on 9 January 1915. His return gave the struggle a new direction. Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated on 9 January to mark this historic event. NRIs have strengthened India economically, socially, and culturally. This day is an opportunity to connect them with India and appreciate their achievements.

Let us tell you that Pravasi Bharatiya Divas was first celebrated by the Government of India in 2003. It was started during the tenure of the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Since 2015, it has been celebrated on a large scale every two years. Every year Pravasi Bharatiya Divas has a special theme, which reflects the aim of giving a new dimension to the relations between India and the NRIs. The theme for the year 2023 was: “Diaspora: Reliable Partners for India’s Progress in Amrit Kaal” while the theme for the year 2025 was “Contribution of NRIs in Developed India”.

The 18th convention of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas will be held in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha from 8 to 10 January 2025. This convention will provide an important platform to strengthen the relations between India and the Indian community settled around the world and to honour their contribution.
