परशुराम जयंती एक सनातन धर्मालम्बियों का त्योहार है, जो भगवान विष्णु के छठे अवतार, परशुराम के जन्मोत्सव के रूप में मनाया जाता है. यह दिन आमतौर पर अक्षय तृतीया के दिन पड़ता है, जो वैशाख माह में आता है. परशुराम को एक महान योद्धा और ऋषि माना जाता है जिन्होंने अन्याय के खिलाफ संघर्ष किया था.
परशुराम का जन्म वैशाख शुक्ल तृतीया को इन्दौर (मध्य प्रदेश) में ग्राम मानपुर के जानापाव पर्वत पर हुआ था. पौराणिक कथाओं के अनुसार, महर्षि भृगु के पुत्र महर्षि जमदग्नि द्वारा सम्पन्न पुत्रेष्टि यज्ञ से प्रसन्न देवराज इन्द्र के वरदान स्वरूप पत्नी रेणुका के गर्भ से हुआ था.
परशुराम का वास्तविक नाम राम था लेकिन, भगवान शिव ने उन्हें अपना परशु नामक अस्त्र प्रदान किया तभी से उनका नाम परशुराम जी हो गया. परशुराम ने हैहय वंशी क्षत्रियों का पृथ्वी से 21 बार संहार किया था.
बताते चलें कि ,भारत के अधिकांश ग्राम परशुराम के द्वारा ही बसाये गये थे जिनमें कोंकण, गोवा एवं केरल प्रमुख हैं. परशुराम बहुत क्रोधी स्वभाव के थे परन्तु शस्त्र विद्या के श्रेष्ठ जानकार साथ ही वदक्कन कलरी के संस्थापक आचार्य एवं आदि गुरु भी थे.
परशुराम जयंती के दिन उनके अनुयायी भगवान परशुराम की पूजा करते हैं, उनके मंदिरों में विशेष पूजा-अर्चना होती है और भजन-कीर्तन भी किए जाते हैं। यह दिन विशेष रूप से ब्राह्मण समुदाय के लिए महत्वपूर्ण होता है.

Parshuram Jayanti
Parashuram Jayanti is a festival of Sanatan Dharma members, which is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Parashuram, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. This day usually falls on Akshaya Tritiya, which falls in the month of Vaishakh. Parashurama is considered a great warrior and sage who fought against injustice.
Parashuram was born on Vaishakh Shukla Tritiya on Janapav Mountain of village Manpur in Indore (Madhya Pradesh). According to mythological stories, Maharishi Bhrigu’s son was born from the womb of his wife Renuka as a boon of Devraj Indra, who was pleased with the Putreshti Yagya performed by Maharishi Jamadagni.
Parashuram’s real name was Ram, but Lord Shiva gave him his weapon named Parashu, since then his name became Parashuram ji. Parashurama had destroyed Haihaya dynasty Kshatriyas from the earth 21 times.
Let us tell you that most of the villages of India were settled by Parashuram, among which Konkan, Goa and Kerala are prominent. Parashuram was of very angry nature but he was an excellent expert in weaponry and was also the founder Acharya and Adi Guru of Vadakkan Kalri.
On the day of Parshuram Jayanti, his followers worship Lord Parashuram, special worship is done in his temples and bhajans and kirtans are also performed. This day is especially important for the Brahmin community.
