राष्ट्रीय जुड़वां दिवस हर वर्ष 16 दिसंबर को मनाया जाता है. यह दिन विशेष रूप से जुड़वां बच्चों (Twins) और उनके बीच के विशेष रिश्ते को सम्मान देने और मनाने के लिए समर्पित है.यह दिन जुड़वां बच्चों के बीच के गहरे भावनात्मक और जैविक संबंध को पहचानता है.
जुड़वां बच्चों का जीवन और उनकी समानताएँ हमेशा से समाज में आकर्षण और चर्चा का विषय रही हैं. यह दिन जुड़वां बच्चों की अनोखी कहानियों, संघर्षों और जीवन में उनके विशेष योगदान को भी उजागर करने का एक अवसर है.
समान जुड़वाँ – ये बच्चे एक ही निषेचित अंडाणु से विकसित होते हैं और उनका DNA लगभग समान होता है. ये एक जैसे दिखते हैं और अक्सर एक ही लिंग के होते हैं.
असमान जुड़वाँ – ये दो अलग-अलग अंडाणुओं से विकसित होते हैं और उनके DNA अलग-अलग होते हैं. ये जुड़वाँ भाई-बहन अलग-अलग दिख सकते हैं और लिंग भी भिन्न हो सकता है.
ज्ञात है कि विश्व में जुड़वाँ बच्चों का जन्म दर लगभग 3-4% है. अफ्रीकी देशों में जुड़वाँ बच्चों का जन्म दर सबसे अधिक है. “ट्विनिंग” शब्द का उपयोग तब होता है जब दो लोग (जुड़वाँ या गैर-जुड़वाँ) एक जैसे कपड़े पहनते हैं.
राष्ट्रीय जुड़वां दिवस न केवल जुड़वाँ बच्चों के रिश्ते को सम्मान देता है बल्कि समाज में उनके अनोखे और दिलचस्प पहलू को भी उजागर करता है. यह दिन हमें रिश्तों के महत्व को समझने और खास लम्हों को संजोने का अवसर प्रदान करता है.

Identical twins – These children develop from the same fertilized egg and their DNA is almost identical. They look alike and are often of the same sex.

It is known that the birth rate of twins in the world is about 3-4%. The birth rate of twins is highest in African countries. The term “twining” is used when two people (twins or non-twins) dress alike.
