दस महाविद्याओं में आठवीं महाविद्या हैं माँ बगलामुखी. जिन्हें स्तंभिनी शक्ति के नाम से जाना जाता है. इनका स्वरूप पीत वर्ण का है और ये अपने भक्तों को शत्रुओं, बुरी शक्तियों और नकारात्मक प्रभावों से मुक्ति दिलाती हैं. बगलामुखी देवी को शक्ति और विजय की देवी माना जाता है, जो अपने भक्तों की रक्षा करती हैं और उनके शत्रुओं को पराजित करती हैं. बगलामुखी का अर्थ होता है ‘लगाम’ या ‘नियंत्रण’ की देवी. “बगला” संस्कृत के “वल्गा” (लगाम) से निकला है, जो नियंत्रण और स्तम्भन का प्रतीक है.
माँ बगलामुखी का स्वरूप अत्यंत तेजस्वी और प्रभावशाली है. वे पीत वस्त्र धारण करती हैं और उनके चारों ओर पीली आभा छाई रहती है. उनके हाथों में गदा (या मुद्गर) होता है, जिससे वे शत्रुओं का संहार करती हैं, और दूसरी भुजा में जिह्वा (शत्रु की ज़बान) पकड़ी होती हैं, जिससे वे शत्रुओं की वाणी और गति को स्तम्भित कर देती हैं. उनके तीन नेत्र हैं जो उनके त्रिकालदर्शी स्वरूप को दर्शाता है. उनका वाहन बगुला है, जिसके कारण ही उन्हें बगलामुखी कहा जाता है. बगुला एक ऐसा पक्षी है जो एकाग्रता से शिकार करता है, ठीक वैसे ही माँ बगलामुखी अपने भक्तों के शत्रुओं पर पूर्ण एकाग्रता से प्रहार करती हैं.
उत्पत्ति की कथा: –
सतयुग में एक भयानक तूफान आया था, जिससे पूरी सृष्टि नष्ट होने लगी थी. भगवान विष्णु ने सृष्टि की रक्षा के लिए माँ भगवती की स्तुति की, तब सौराष्ट्र देश में हरिद्रा सरोवर के मध्य से माँ बगलामुखी प्रकट हुईं और उन्होंने उस तूफान को शांत किया. इसी कारण उन्हें ब्रह्मास्त्र विद्या भी कहा जाता है, क्योंकि वे हर प्रकार की बाधाओं और शत्रुओं का नाश करने की क्षमता रखती हैं.
बताते चलें कि, माँ बगलामुखी की उपासना का महत्व विशेष रूप से कोर्ट-कचहरी के मामलों, राजनीति, चुनाव, व्यापार में प्रतिद्वंद्विता और किसी भी प्रकार के संघर्ष में सफलता पाने के लिए होता है. इनकी साधना से व्यक्ति को वाक-सिद्धि प्राप्त होती है और वह अपने शत्रुओं को अपनी वाणी से ही परास्त करने की क्षमता प्राप्त कर लेता है.
पूजा विधि: –
माँ बगलामुखी की पूजा में पीले रंग का विशेष महत्व होता है. उनकी साधना के दौरान पीले वस्त्र धारण किए जाते हैं, पीली हल्दी की माला का उपयोग होता है, और पीले फूल चढ़ाए जाते हैं. उनकी पूजा में हल्दी की गांठें और चने की दाल भी अर्पित की जाती है. साधना के दौरान नियम और संयम का पालन करना अत्यंत आवश्यक है. बगलामुखी साधना एक तीव्र और शक्तिशाली साधना है, जिसे किसी योग्य गुरु के मार्गदर्शन में ही करना चाहिए.

Maa Baglamukhi is the eighth Mahavidya among the ten Mahavidyas. Who is known as Stambhaini Shakti? Her form is of yellow colour and she frees her devotees from enemies, evil powers and negative influences. Baglamukhi Devi is considered to be the goddess of power and victory, who protects her devotees and defeats their enemies. Baglamukhi means the goddess of ‘rein’ or ‘control’. “Bagla” is derived from the Sanskrit “valga” (rein), which is a symbol of control and immobilization.
Maa Baglamukhi’s form is very radiant and impressive. She wears yellow clothes, and a yellow aura surrounds her. She has a mace (or Mudgar) in her hands, with which she kills the enemies, and in the other hand she holds the tongue (tongue of the enemy), with which she paralyzes the speech and movement of the enemies. She has three eyes, which show her Trikaldarshi form. Her vehicle is a heron, due to which she is called Baglamukhi. Heron is a bird that hunts with concentration, in the same way Maa Baglamukhi attacks the enemies of her devotees with full concentration.
Story of Origin: –
In the Satyuga, a terrible storm came, due to which the whole creation started getting destroyed. Lord Vishnu praised Mother Bhagwati to protect the creation, then Mother Baglamukhi appeared from the middle of Haridra Sarovar in Saurashtra country, and she calmed that storm. That is why she is also called Brahmastra Vidya, because she has the ability to destroy all kinds of obstacles and enemies.

Worship Method: –
The yellow colour has special importance in the worship of Maa Baglamukhi. During her worship, yellow clothes are worn, a garland of yellow turmeric is used, and yellow flowers are offered. Turmeric knots and gram pulses are also offered in her worship. It is very important to follow the rules and remain restrained during the worship. Baglamukhi Sadhana is an intense and powerful Sadhana, which should be done only under the guidance of a qualified Guru.
