हर वर्ष 30 जनवरी को भारत में शहीदी दिवस मनाया जाता है और यह दिन शहीदों को सलाम और श्रद्धांजलि देने के लिए समर्पित है. इस दिन लोग वीर शहीदों की महानता और उनके बलिदान को याद करते हैं जिन्होंने देश के लिएअपने जीवन को न्योछावर किया.
शहीदी दिवस का मुख्य उद्देश्य यह है कि लोग अपने देश के लिए जान की बाजी लगाने वाले वीर शहीदों के साहस, पराक्रम, और समर्पण को याद रखें और प्रेरणा लें. इस दिन कई स्थलों पर समर्पण समारोह और श्रद्धांजलि सभाएं आयोजित की जाती हैं, जिनमें वीर शहीदों के परिवारों को सम्मानित किया जाता है.
- 30 जनवरी को राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गाँधी की पुण्यतिथि के रूप में मनाया जाता है. 30 जनवरी 1948 को नाथूराम गोडसे ने महात्मा गाँधी की गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी थी. महात्मा गाँधी को अहिंसा और शांति का प्रतीक माना जाता है. इस दिन को “शहीदी दिवस” के रूप में मनाया जाता है.
- 23 मार्च को शहीद दिवस के रूप में इसलिए मनाया जाता है क्योंकि इस दिन तीन महान क्रांतिकारियों भगत सिंह, राजगुरु और सुखदेव को वर्ष 1931 में फांसी दी गई थी. भगत सिंह, राजगुरु और सुखदेव ने देश की स्वतंत्रता के लिए अपने प्राणों की आहुति दी थी. उन्हें देश के युवाओं के लिए प्रेरणा का स्रोत माना जाता है. यह दिन युवा क्रांतिकारियों के बलिदान को याद करने के लिए समर्पित है.
- 13 अप्रैल 1919 को अमृतसर के जलियांवाला बाग में जनरल डायर के आदेश पर निहत्थे भारतीयों पर गोलियाँ चलाई गईं, जिसमें हजारों लोग शहीद हुए.
- 21 अक्टूबर 1959 को लद्दाख के हॉट स्प्रिंग्स क्षेत्र में चीनी सेना ने 10 भारतीय पुलिसकर्मियों को शहीद कर दिया था. उनके सम्मान में यह दिन पुलिस बलों के बलिदान को समर्पित है.
शहीद दिवस हमें उन शहीदों के बलिदान की याद दिलाता है जिन्होंने देश की स्वतंत्रता और सुरक्षा के लिए अपने प्राण न्योछावर कर दिए. यह दिन हमें देश के प्रति अपने कर्तव्यों को निभाने और राष्ट्र निर्माण में अपना योगदान देने के लिए प्रेरित करता है. शहीद दिवस हमें यह भी याद दिलाता है कि हमें अपने देश की एकता और अखंडता को बनाए रखने के लिए हमेशा तत्पर रहना चाहिए.
यह दिन हमें स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों और वीर सैनिकों के बलिदान को याद रखने और उनके दिखाए मार्ग पर चलने की प्रेरणा देते हैं.

Every year on 30th January, Martyrdom Day is celebrated in India and this day is dedicated to paying homage and salute to the martyrs. On this day, people remember the greatness and sacrifice of the brave martyrs who laid down their lives for the country.
The main objective of Martyrdom Day is that people remember and take inspiration from the courage, valour, and dedication of the brave martyrs who put their lives at stake for their country. On this day, dedication ceremonies and tribute meetings are organized at many places, in which the families of the brave martyrs are honoured.
- 30th January is celebrated as the death anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. On 30th January 1948, Nathuram Godse shot and killed Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi is considered a symbol of non-violence and peace. This day is celebrated as “Martyrdom Day”.
- March 23 is celebrated as Martyr’s Day because on this day three great revolutionaries Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were hanged in the year 1931. Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev sacrificed their lives for the independence of the country. They are considered a source of inspiration for the youth of the country. This day is dedicated to remembering the sacrifice of young revolutionaries.
- On 13 April 1919, bullets were fired at unarmed Indians on the orders of General Dyer in Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar, in which thousands of people were martyred.
- On 21 October 1959, 10 Indian policemen were martyred by the Chinese army in the Hot Springs area of Ladakh. In their honour, this day is dedicated to the sacrifice of the police forces.
Martyr’s Day reminds us of the sacrifice of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and security of the country. This day inspires us to perform our duties towards the country and contribute to nation-building. Martyrs’ Day also reminds us that we should always be ready to maintain the unity and integrity of our country.
