अरे भाई! यह बिहार चुनाव का ‘किला’ तो रावण की लंका से भी ज़्यादा अभेद्य हो गया है! लंका में तो बस एक विभीषण थे, यहाँ तो हर तीसरे ‘सहयोगी दल’ के पास विभीषण वाला ‘सीक्रेट मैप’ है!
“यार, हम किला जीतने का प्लान बना रहे हैं, ‘वोट बैंक’ की गणित लगा रहे हैं, और तभी विभीषण (सहयोगी दल) का फोन आ जाता है! ‘भैया! इस सीट से तो आप मत लड़िए! ये हमारी ‘परंपरागत’ सीट रही है, यहाँ से हमारा एक ‘निष्ठुर कार्यकर्ता’ है, जो रावण (विपक्षी) के ‘मर्म’ को जानता है!’
कमबख्त! ‘मर्म’ तो तुम मेरा जान रहे हो! हर बार चुनाव से ऐन पहले आकर पूछते हैं कि ‘हमें क्या मिलेगा?’ ये हाल है कि हमें अपने ‘सेनापति’ (उम्मीदवार) से ज़्यादा चिंता इस बात की है कि कहीं ‘विभीषण’ नाराज़ होकर ‘रावण’ के खेमे में न चले जाएँ! और अगर चले गए, तो तुरंत ‘ट्विटर’ पर आकर कहेंगे: ‘मैंने तो सिर्फ बिहार के हित में धर्म का साथ दिया है!’
“हम छोटे दल ज़रूर हैं, लेकिन ‘विभीषण-शक्ति’ को कम मत आँकिए! हमारी एक ‘जाति’ और पाँच ‘सीट’ ही तो हैं, लेकिन इन्हीं पाँच सीटों पर रावण (विपक्षी) की ‘कमज़ोरी’ छिपी है! अगर हमें किनारे किया, तो हम ‘किले’ का नक्शा ले जाकर उधर दे देंगे! फिर पूछते रहिएगा, ‘पुल’ कब बनेगा, और ‘युवाओं’ को नौकरी कब मिलेगी!
और क्या कहा? ‘नैतिकता?’ अरे भैया! बिहार की राजनीति में नैतिकता ही तो विभीषण है! हम तो बस ‘जनभावना’ का सम्मान कर रहे हैं! रावण अगर ‘राम’ बन जाए, तो विभीषण भी ‘सुग्रीव’ बन जाता है! इसमें गलत क्या है?”
“अरे! तुम सब लड़ो! आपस में सीट बाँटो, मत बाँटो, ‘घर का भेद’ बताओ! हम तो रावण और राम दोनों को जानते हैं! जब तक तुम अपने ‘विभीषण-प्रेम’ से बाहर नहीं निकलोगे, तब तक हर चुनाव में ‘लंका दहन’ (सरकार का गिरना) निश्चित है! और हर बार… हार के बाद वही भावनात्मक डायलॉग: ‘बस, उस विभीषण ने धोखा दे दिया!’
अरे! विभीषण को रखना क्यों है? डरते क्यों हो? किला जीतना है या ‘रिश्तेदारी’ निभानी है? अब तो ऐसा लगता है कि बिहार का किला जीतने के लिए ‘राम’ को नहीं, एक ‘प्रशासनिक आदेश’ की ज़रूरत है कि ‘आज के बाद कोई भी ‘पड़ोसी दल’ किसी को ‘गोपनीय जानकारी’ नहीं देगा!’ वरना, ‘रावण-राज’ जाए या ‘राम-राज’ आए, ‘विभीषण-राज’ तो अमर है!”

Troubled by Vibhishan… How will we win the fort?
“Oh brother! This Bihar election ‘fort’ has become even more impregnable than Ravana’s Lanka! In Lanka, there was only one Vibhishan, but here, every third ‘allied party’ has a ‘secret map’ like Vibhushan’s!”
“Man, we’re making plans to win the fort, calculating the ‘vote bank’ mathematics, and then a call comes from Vibhishan (the allied party)! ‘Brother! Don’t contest from this seat! This has been our ‘traditional’ seat, we have a ‘loyal worker’ here who knows Ravana’s (the opposition’s) ‘weak points’!’
Damn it! You’re the one who knows my ‘weak points’! Every time, just before the elections, they come and ask, ‘What will we get?’ The situation is such that we are more worried about our ‘commander’ (candidate) than about whether ‘Vibhishan’ will get angry and go over to Ravana’s camp! And if they do, they’ll immediately go to ‘Twitter’ and say: ‘I have only sided with righteousness in the interest of Bihar!’
“We may be a small party, but don’t underestimate the ‘Vibhishan power’! We only have one ‘caste’ and five ‘seats’, but Ravana’s (the opposition’s) ‘weakness’ is hidden in these five seats! If you sideline us, we’ll take the map of the ‘fort’ and give it to them! Then you can keep asking when the ‘bridge’ will be built, and when the ‘youth’ will get jobs!
And what did you say? ‘Morality?’ Oh brother! In Bihar politics, morality itself is Vibhishana! We are just respecting ‘public sentiment’! If Ravana becomes ‘Rama’, then Vibhishan also becomes ‘Sugriva’! What’s wrong with that?”
“Hey! You all fight! Divide the seats among yourselves, or don’t, reveal the ‘secrets of the house’! We know both Ravana and Rama!” Until you get over your ‘Vibhishana-like affection’ for traitors, ‘the burning of Lanka’ (the fall of the government) is inevitable in every election! And every time… after the defeat, the same emotional dialogue: ‘It was just that Vibhishana who betrayed us!’
Hey! Why keep Vibhishana around? What are you afraid of? Do you want to win the fort or maintain ‘relationships’? Now it seems that to win the fort of Bihar, you don’t need a ‘Rama’, but an ‘administrative order’ that ‘from today onwards, no ‘allied party’ will give ‘confidential information’ to anyone!’ Otherwise, whether ‘Ravana’s rule’ goes or ‘Rama’s rule’ comes, ‘Vibhishana’s rule’ is immortal!”
