गुरु घासीदास जयंती हर वर्ष 18 दिसंबर को मनाई जाती है. यह दिन सतनाम पंथ के संस्थापक और समाज सुधारक गुरु घासीदास जी की स्मृति में मनाया जाता है.
गुरु घासीदास का जन्म 18 दिसंबर 1756 को गिरौदपुरी, जिला बलौदाबाजार (छत्तीसगढ़) में हुआ था. उनके पिता का नाम महगूं दास और माता का नाम अमरौतिन था. उनकी धर्मपत्नी का नाम सफुरा था. गुरु घासीदास की मृत्यु वर्ष 1836 में हुई थी.
गुरु घासीदास जी छत्तीसगढ़ के महान समाज सुधारक थे जिन्होंने समाज में व्याप्त भेदभाव, छुआछूत और अंधविश्वास के खिलाफ संघर्ष किया. उन्होंने सतनाम पंथ की स्थापना की. “सतनाम” का अर्थ है “सत्य ही ईश्वर है”. उन्होंने समाज को सच्चाई और समानता के मार्ग पर चलने की शिक्षा दी. उन्होंने जातिवाद और ऊँच-नीच के भेदभाव को समाप्त करने का संदेश दिया था.
गुरु घासीदास ने सिखाया कि सत्य की पूजा ही सच्चे ईश्वर की पूजा है. उन्होंने सभी मनुष्य समान हैं, चाहे उनका धर्म, जाति या वर्ग कुछ भी हो. उन्होंने छुआछूत और सामाजिक असमानता का कड़ा विरोध किया. उनके उपदेश अहिंसा और शांति पर आधारित थे.
गुरु घासीदास जी का जन्म स्थान, सतनाम पंथ का तीर्थ स्थल है. यहाँ गुरु घासीदास जी की स्मृति में विशाल जैतखाम (सफेद स्तंभ) स्थापित किया गया है, जो सतनाम पंथ के अनुयायियों के लिए श्रद्धा का प्रतीक है. गुरु घासीदास जयंती न केवल सतनाम पंथ के अनुयायियों के लिए, बल्कि पूरे समाज के लिए एक प्रेरणा का स्रोत है. यह दिन हमें समानता, सत्य और मानवता के मार्ग पर चलने का संदेश देता है.
गुरु घासीदास जी के विचार और उपदेश आज भी समाज में समानता, सत्य और न्याय की प्रेरणा देते हैं. उनकी जयंती हमें उनके आदर्शों पर चलने और समाज में भाईचारा बनाए रखने का संकल्प दिलाती है.

Guru Ghasidas Jayanti
Guru Ghasidas Jayanti is celebrated every year on 18 December. This day is celebrated in memory of Guru Ghasidas ji, the founder of the Satnam sect and social reformer.
Guru Ghasidas was born on 18 December 1756 in Girodpuri, District Balodabazar (Chhattisgarh). His father’s name was Mahgun Das and his mother’s name was Amarautin. His wife’s name was Safura. Guru Ghasidas died in the year 1836.
Guru Ghasidas ji was a great social reformer of Chhattisgarh who fought against discrimination, untouchability and superstition prevalent in the society. He founded the Satnam sect. “Satnam” means “Truth is God”. He taught the society to follow the path of truth and equality. He gave the message of ending casteism and discrimination of high and low.
Guru Ghasidas taught that the worship of truth is the worship of the true God. He said that all human beings are equal, irrespective of their religion, caste or class. He strongly opposed untouchability and social inequality. His teachings were based on non-violence and peace.
The birthplace of Guru Ghasidas ji is a pilgrimage site of the Satnam sect. A huge Jaitkham (white pillar) has been installed here in memory of Guru Ghasidas ji, which is a symbol of reverence for the followers of the Satnam sect.
Guru Ghasidas Jayanti is a source of inspiration not only for the followers of the Satnam sect but for the entire society. This day gives us the message of following the path of equality, truth and humanity.
