अप्रैल फूल दिवस हर वर्ष 01 अप्रैल को मनाया जाता है. वैसे तो देखा जाय आज के दिन कोई सरकारी छूट्टी भी नहीं होती है फिर भी मानवीय संवेदनाओं के साथ आनंद मनाने या यूँ कहें कि हंसी-ठिठोली करने दिन है. व्यस्त और भागमभाग जिन्दगी या यूँ कहें कि व्यस्त समय के साथ अपने सहयोगियों, मित्रों और परिवार के साथ मुर्ख बनकर या बनाकर आनंद की तृप्ति कराने का दिन है. आज की तारीख. आज एक अप्रैल है जिसे ‘आल फूल्स डे’ के रूप में जाना जाता है. भारत ही नहीं पूरी दुनिया के लोग अपनी-अपनी संस्कृति के अनुसार इस दिन का आनंद लेते है.
अप्रैल फूल दिवस की शुरुआत के बारे में कई मान्यताएँ हैं. उन्हीं मान्यताओं के अनुसार इस परम्परा की शुरुआत स्पेन के पूर्व राजा माऊँटोबेट ने की थी वहीं दूसरी ओर अप्रैल फूल की शुरुआत17वीं सदी में हुई है. हंसी-मजाक करने का सिलसिला वर्ष1564के बाद फ्रांस से शुरू हुआ. इस दिन फ़्रांस में लोग एक-दुसरे से मिलते हैं और उपहार और शुभकामनाएं भेजते है. बताते चलें कि, वर्ष1564में फ्रांस के राजा चार्ल्स नवम ने बेहतर कैलेंडर अपनाने का आदेश दिया था. इस नये कैलेंडर में01जनवरी को वर्ष का प्रथम दिन माना गया था. अधिकतर लोगों ने कैलेंडर को अपना लिया लेकिन, कुछ लोगो ने अपनाने से इंकार कर दिया और ऐसे लोगों ने 01अप्रैल को ही वर्ष का पहला दिन मानते थे. इस पर नया कैलेंडर अपनाने वालों ने पुराने कैलन्डर मानने वालों को विभिन्न प्रकार के मजाक और झुठे उपहार देना शुरू किया. तभी से इस दिन को ‘फूल्स डे’ के रूप में मनाते चलें आ रहें हैं.
विश्व में फ़्रांस और रोम ऐसे देश है जहां ‘अप्रैल फूल दिवस’ सात दिनों तक मनाया जाता है. इन सात दिनों में मूर्खों, कवियों और व्यंगकारों के कार्क्रम होते हैं. वहीं चीन में ‘अप्रैल फूल’ के दिन मिठाई बांटने और बैरंग पार्सल भेजने की परम्परा है. जापान में अप्रैल फूल के दिन बच्चे पतंग उड़ाते है एक ख़ास रकम लिखकर, जो भी व्यक्ति पतंग पकड़कर ईनाम मांगने वाला अप्रैल फूल बन जाता है. वहीं स्कॉटलैंड में मुर्गा चुरा कर मजा लेने की परम्परा है साथ ही तरह-तरह से एक-दुसरे को बेवकूफ बनाने की परम्परा है. रोम और मध्य यूरोप में 20 मार्च से 05 अप्रैल तक नया साल मनाया जाता है. वहीं, भारत में हिन्दू पंचांग के अनुसार, वर्ष का प्रारंभ चैत्र माह के शुक्ल पक्ष की प्रतिपदा तिथि से होती है.
बताते चलें कि, जुनियल कैलेंडर जो कि वर्ष1582में बनाया गया था. जुनियल कैलेंडर ने01अप्रैल को नया साल माना था. इसके बाद पोप ग्रेगी13वें ने ‘ग्रेगियन कैलेंडर’ का निर्माण किया जिसमें, 01जनवरी को नया साल माना और घोषित कर दिया. वर्ष1660में कई देशों ने ‘ग्रेगियन कैलेंडर’ को स्वीकार कर लिया. स्वीकार करने वाले देशों में जर्मनी, नार्वे और दनिश थे लेकिन, वर्ष1759में इंग्लैण्ड ने भी ‘ग्रेगियन कैलेंडर’ स्वीकार कर लिया. लेकिन, फ़्रांस के लोगों को लगा कि, उन्हें मुर्ख बनाया गया है तब, फ़्रांस ने भी ‘ग्रेगियन कैलेंडर’ को स्वीकार कर पुराने कैलेंडर के नववर्ष को ‘मुर्ख दिवस’ घोषित कर दिया.
अप्रैल फूल दिवस हँसी-खुशी और मस्ती का दिन है. यह हमें जीवन में हलकापन और खुश रहने की याद दिलाता है. हालाँकि, मजाक करते समय संवेदनशीलता बनाए रखना जरूरी है ताकि किसी की भावनाएँ आहत न हों.

April Fool’s Day is celebrated every year on 1 April. Although there is no government holiday on this day, still it is a day to enjoy human sensibilities or to laugh and make fun. It is a day to satisfy the joy of being a fool or making someone a fool with your colleagues, friends and family in a busy life or say that a busy time. Today’s date. There are many beliefs about the beginning of April Fool’s Day. According to those beliefs, this tradition was started by the former king of Spain Mountbatten, while on the other hand, April Fool started in the 17th century. The tradition of laughing and making fun started in France after the year 1564. On this day, people in France meet each other and send gifts and good wishes. Let us tell you that in the year 1564, the King of France Charles IX ordered to adopt a better calendar. In this new calendar, 1st January was considered as the first day of the year. Most people adopted the calendar but some people refused to adopt it and such people considered 1st April as the first day of the year. On this, those who adopted the new calendar started playing various pranks and giving fake gifts to those who believed in the old calendar. Since then, this day has been celebrated as ‘Fool’s Day’.
France and Rome are the countries in the world where ‘April Fool’s Day’ is celebrated for seven days. In these seven days, there are activities of fools, poets and satirists. On the other hand, there is a tradition in China to distribute sweets and send colourless parcels on ‘April Fool’s Day’. In Japan, on April Fool’s Day, children fly kites by writing a special amount on them, whoever catches the kite and asks for a prize becomes an April Fool. In Scotland, there is a tradition of stealing chickens and having fun, as well as fooling each other in various ways. In Rome and Central Europe, the New Year is celebrated from 20 March to 5 April. In India, according to the Hindu calendar, the year begins on the Pratipada date of the Shukla Paksha of the Chaitra month.
Let us tell you that the Junior Calendar was created in the year 1582. The Junior Calendar considered 1 April as the New Year. After this, Pope Gregory 13th created the ‘Gregorian Calendar’ in which 1 January was considered and declared as the New Year. In the year 1660, many countries accepted the ‘Gregorian Calendar’. The countries that accepted it were Germany, Norway and Denmark, but in the year 1759, England also accepted the ‘Gregorian Calendar’. However, the people of France felt that they had been fooled, so France also accepted the ‘Gregorian Calendar’ and declared the New Year of the old calendar as ‘Fool’s Day’.
April Fool’s Day is a day of laughter and fun. It reminds us to be light and happy in life. However, it is important to maintain sensitivity while joking so that no one’s feelings are hurt.
