गुजरात स्थापना दिवस हर वर्ष 01 मई को मनाया जाता है. यह दिन वर्ष 1960 में महाराष्ट्र और गुजरात के दो अलग-अलग राज्यों में विभाजित होने के बाद गुजरात के रूप में अलग होने की याद दिलाता है. गुजरात ने अपनी अनूठी सांस्कृतिक विरासत, ऐतिहासिक गौरव और आर्थिक प्रगति के साथ भारत में एक महत्वपूर्ण स्थान हासिल किया है.
स्वतंत्रता के बाद, भारत में विभिन्न रियासतों का विलय करके राज्यों का पुनर्गठन किया गया. उस समय, गुजराती और मराठी भाषी लोग बॉम्बे राज्य का हिस्सा थे. भाषाई आधार पर राज्यों के पुनर्गठन की मांग जोर पकड़ने लगी, क्योंकि दोनों भाषाई समुदायों को अपनी सांस्कृतिक पहचान और विकास के लिए अलग राज्य चाहिए थे.
लंबे संघर्ष और आंदोलनों के बाद, भारत सरकार ने भाषाई आधार पर बॉम्बे राज्य को दो नए राज्यों में विभाजित करने का निर्णय लिया – गुजराती भाषी लोगों के लिए गुजरात और मराठी भाषी लोगों के लिए महाराष्ट्र. 1 मई, 1960 को, बॉम्बे पुनर्गठन अधिनियम लागू हुआ और गुजरात भारत का एक नया राज्य बना. इस दिन को गुजरात स्थापना दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है.
गुजरात अपनी समृद्ध सांस्कृतिक और ऐतिहासिक विरासत के लिए प्रसिद्ध है. यह राज्य गरबा और डांडिया जैसे पारंपरिक नृत्यों, सोमनाथ और द्वारका जैसे पवित्र स्थलों, तथा महात्मा गांधी व सरदार वल्लभ भाई पटेल की जन्मभूमि के रूप में विशेष स्थान रखता है. वहीं दूसरी तरफ गुजरात भारत की आर्थिक ताकत का प्रमुख स्तंभ है. अहमदाबाद, सूरत और वडोदरा जैसे शहर व्यापार और उद्योग के केंद्र हैं. गिर के सिंह, कच्छ के रण, और ऐतिहासिक स्मारक यहाँ के पर्यटन आकर्षण हैं.
गुजरात स्थापना दिवस न केवल राज्य के गठन की कहानी कहता है, बल्कि इसकी समृद्ध सांस्कृतिक विरासत, ऐतिहासिक महत्व और आर्थिक प्रगति को भी दर्शाता है.

Gujarat Foundation Day…
Gujarat Foundation Day is celebrated every year on 01 May. This day commemorates the separation of Gujarat as a state after the division of Maharashtra and Gujarat into two separate states in the year 1960. Gujarat has achieved an important place in India with its unique cultural heritage, historical glory and economic progress.
After independence, the states were reorganized by merging various princely states in India. At that time, Gujarati and Marathi speaking people were part of Bombay State. The demand for reorganization of states on linguistic basis started gaining momentum, as both the linguistic communities wanted separate states for their cultural identity and development.
After a long struggle and movements, the Government of India decided to divide Bombay State into two new states on linguistic basis – Gujarat for Gujarati speaking people and Maharashtra for Marathi speaking people. On May 1, 1960, the Bombay Reorganization Act came into force and Gujarat became a new state of India. This day is celebrated as Gujarat Foundation Day.
Gujarat is famous for its rich cultural and historical heritage. The state is known for its traditional dances like Garba and Dandiya, holy places like Somnath and Dwarka, and the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. On the other hand, Gujarat is a major pillar of India’s economic strength. Cities like Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara are centres of trade and industry. Gir lions, the Rann of Kutch, and historical monuments are tourist attractions here.
Gujarat Foundation Day not only tells the story of the formation of the state, but also showcases its rich cultural heritage, historical significance and economic progress.
