हिन्दू संस्कृति में ज्ञान या यूँ कहें कि, विद्या की देवी माँ सरस्वती जो त्रिदेवियों में एक देवी है. उनकी पूजा आराधना माघ मास की पंचमी को किया जाता है जिसे वसंत पंचमी या श्रीपंचमी के नाम से जाना जाता है. बतातें चलें कि,सरस्वती पूजा भारत के अलावा पश्चिमोत्तर बांग्लादेश, नेपाल सहित कई देशों में धूम-धाम से मनाया जाता है.शास्त्रों के अनुसार, माघ मास की पंचमी से बसंत ऋतू का आगमन होता है. बसंत ऋतू और माघ पंचमी मिलकर बना है बसंत पंचमी.
बसंत ऋतू को ऋतुराज या यूँ कहें कि, ऋतुओं का राजा भी कहा जाता है. अंग्रेजी महीने अनुसार यह ऋतू फरवरी मार्च और अप्रैल के मध्य में आता है. भगवान कृष्ण ने गीता में कहा है ऋतुओं में मैं वसंत हूँ. इस ऋतु के आने पर सर्दी कम हो जाती है, मौसम सुहावना हो जाता है, पेड़ों में नए पत्ते आने लगते हैं, आम के पेड़ बौरों से लद जाते हैं और खेत सरसों के फूलों से भरे पीले दिखाई देते हैं. इस ऋतु की विशेषता है की मौसम का गरम होना, फूलो का खिलना, पौधो का हरा भरा होना और बर्फ का पिघलना. पौराणिक कथाओं के अनुसार वसंत को कामदेव का पुत्र कहा गया है. कवि देव ने वसंत ऋतु का वर्णन करते हुए कहा है कि रूप व सौंदर्य के देवता कामदेव के घर पुत्रोत्पत्ति का समाचार पाते ही प्रकृति झूम उठती है, पेड़ उसके लिए नव पल्लव का पालना डालते है, फूल वस्त्र पहनाते हैं पवन झुलाती है और कोयल उसे गीत सुनाकर बहलाती है.
पौराणिक ग्रंथों में माँ सरस्वती का विस्तृत वर्णन दिया गया है. विष्णु पुराण के अनुसार वाग्देवी को चार भुजा युक्त व आभूषणों से सुसज्जित दर्शाया गया है. वहीं स्कन्द पुरानुसार, सरस्वती जटा-जुटयुक्त, अर्धचन्द्र मस्तक पर धारण किए, कमलासन पर सुशोभित, नील ग्रीवा वाली एवं तीन नेत्रों वाली कही गई हैं. रूप मंडन में वाग्देवी का शांत, सौभ्य व शास्त्रोक्त वर्णन मिलता है. ब्राह्मण-ग्रंथों के अनुसार वाग्देवी सरस्वती ब्रह्मस्वरूपा, कामधेनु तथा समस्त देवों की प्रतिनिधि हैं. ये ही विद्या, बुद्धि और ज्ञान की देवी हैं. ऋग्वेद में भी माँ सरस्वती देवी के असीम प्रभाव व महिमा का वर्णन है. माँ सरस्वती विद्या व ज्ञान की अधिष्ठात्री हैं. कहा जाता है कि, जिनकी जिव्हा पर सरस्वती देवी का वास होता है, वे अत्यंत ही विद्वान् व कुशाग्र बुद्धि होते हैं.
जब सृष्टि का आरम्भ हुआ तब, भगवान विष्णु की आज्ञा से ब्रह्मा ने सृष्टि की रचना की लेकिन, भगवान ब्रह्मा अपनी सर्जना से संतुष्ट नहीं थे. उन्हें लगता था कि कुछ कमी रह गई है जिसके कारण चारों ओर मौन छाया रहता है. तब ब्रह्मा ने भगवान विष्णु से अनुमति लेकर अपने कमण्डल से पृथ्वी पर जल छिड़का, जल छिड़कते ही उसमें कंपन होने लगा और वृक्षों के बीच से एक अद्भुत शक्ति प्रकट हुई. यह अद्भुत शक्ति एक चतुर्भुजी सुंदर स्त्री का था जिसके एक हाथ में वीणा तथा दूसरा हाथ वर मुद्रा था, अन्य दोनों हाथों में पुस्तक एवं माला थी. ब्रह्मा ने देवी से वीणा बजाने का अनुरोध किया, जैसे ही देवी ने वीणा का मधुरनाद किया, संसार के समस्त जीव-जन्तुओं को वाणी प्राप्त हो गई. पवन चलने लगी और जलधारा में कोलाहल व्याप्त हो गया.
तब ब्रह्मा ने उस देवी को वाणी की देवी सरस्वती, बागीश्वरी, भगवती, शारदा, वीणावादनी और वाग्देवी कहा. ये विद्या और बुद्धि प्रदाता हैं. पौराणिक ग्रन्थ ऋग्वेद में भगवती सरस्वती का वर्णन करते हुए कहा गया है कि, ये परम चेतना हैं. सरस्वती के रूप में ये हमारी बुद्धि, प्रज्ञा तथा मनोवृत्तियों की संरक्षिका हैं. हममें जो आचार और मेधा है उसका आधार भगवती सरस्वती ही हैं. इनकी समृद्धि और स्वरूप का वैभव अद्भुत है.
प्राचीनकाल से इसे ज्ञान और कला की देवी मां सरस्वती का जन्मदिवस माना जाता है. वसंत पंचमी के दिन स्कूलों, कॉलेज, विद्यार्थियों व शिक्षाविद मां शारदे की पूजा कर उनसे और अधिक ज्ञानवान होने की प्रार्थना करते हैं. बसंत पंचमी के दिन मां सरस्वती की पूजा करने से वाणी मधुर होती है, स्मरण शक्ति तीव्र होती है, प्राणियों को सौभाग्य प्राप्त होता है, विद्या में कुशलता प्राप्त होती है. इस दिन भक्तिपूर्वक ब्राह्मण के द्वारा स्वस्ति वाचन कराकर गंध, अक्षत, श्वेत पुष्प माला, श्वेत वस्त्रादि उपचारों से वीणा, अक्षमाला, कमण्डल, तथा पुस्तक धारण की हुई सभी अलंकारों से अलंकृत भगवती गायत्री का पूजन करें.
यथा वु देवि भगवान ब्रह्मा लोकपितामहः।
त्वां परित्यज्य नो तिष्ठंन, तथा भव वरप्रदा।।
वेद शास्त्राणि सर्वाणि नृत्य गीतादिकं चरेत्।
वादितं यत् त्वया देवि तथा मे सन्तुसिद्धयः।।
लक्ष्मीर्वेदवरा रिष्टिर्गौरी तुष्टिः प्रभामतिः।
एताभिः परिहत्तनुरिष्टाभिर्मा सरस्वति।।
सर्वप्रथम एक साफ़ चौकी लें, उस पर पीले वस्त्र का आसन रखकर माँ सरस्वती देवी और भगवान गणेश की मूर्ति स्थापित करना चाहिए और माँ को पीत पुष्पों से सजा कर पीले वस्त्र पहनाएं. उसके बाद पीले फल, मिठाई, नारियल व पान रखकर माँ की पूजा करनी चाहिए. बसंत पंचमी के दिन सम्पूर्ण प्रकृति में एक मादक उल्लास व आनन्द की सृष्टि हुई थी. इस दिन सब कुछ पीला दिखाई देता है और प्रकृति खेतों को पीले-सुनहरे रंग से सज़ा देती है. बताते चलें कि, पीला रंग परिपक्वता का प्रतीक माना जाता है. इस दिन घरों में भोजन भी पीला ही बनाया जाता है.

In Hindu culture, knowledge or to say that, Maa Saraswati, the goddess of learning, is one of the trinity goddesses. His worship is done on the Panchami of Magh month which is known as Vasant Panchami or Sri Panchami. Let us tell you that apart from India, Saraswati Puja is celebrated with great pomp in many countries including North West Bangladesh, and Nepal. According to the scriptures, the spring season starts on the fifth day of the Magh month. Basant Panchami is made up of Basant Ritu and Magh Panchami.
Spring season is also known as Ruturaj or in other words, the king of seasons. According to English month, this season falls in the middle of February, March, and April. Lord Krishna has said in the Gita that I am the spring among the seasons. With the arrival of this season, the winter subsides, the weather becomes pleasant, new leaves start coming into the trees, mango trees are covered with flowers and the fields appear yellow and full of mustard flowers. The specialty of this season is the warming of the weather, the blooming of flowers, the greening of plants, and the melting of snow. According to mythology, spring has been called the son of Cupid. Describing the spring season, poet Dev has said that on hearing the news of the birth of a son in the house of Kamadeva, the god of beauty and beauty, nature gets excited, trees put the cradle of Nav Pallava for him, flowers dress him, the wind swings him and the cuckoo She entertains by reciting songs.
A detailed description of Maa Saraswati has been given in mythological texts. According to Vishnu Purana, Vagdevi is depicted with four arms and adorned with ornaments. On the other hand, according to the Skanda Purana, Saraswati is said to be coiffed, half-moon worn on her head, adorned on Kamalasana, has a blue neck, and has three eyes. Vagdevi’s calm, decent and scriptural description is found in Roop Mandan. According to Brahmin texts, Vagdevi Saraswati is the representative of Brahmaswarupa, Kamdhenu, and all the gods. She is the goddess of knowledge, wisdom, and knowledge. Rigveda also describes the immense influence and glory of Maa Saraswati Devi. Maa Saraswati is the presiding deity of education and knowledge. It is said that, on whose tongue Saraswati Devi resides, they are extremely learned and intelligent.
When creation started, Brahma created the universe by the order of Lord Vishnu, but Lord Brahma was not satisfied with his creation. He used to feel that something is missing due to which there is a shadow of silence all around. Then Brahma sprinkled water on the earth with his ka manual after taking permission from Lord Vishnu, as soon as the water was sprinkled it started vibrating and a wonderful power appeared from among the trees. This wonderful power was of a four-armed beautiful woman who had Veena in one hand and Vara Mudra in the other hand, books, and garlands in the other two hands. Brahma requested the goddess to play the veena, and as soon as the goddess played the melodious sound of the veena, all the living beings in the world got speech. The wind started blowing and there was an uproar in the water stream.
Then Brahma called the goddess Saraswati, Bagishwari, Bhagwati, Sharda, Veenavadni, and Vagdevi, the goddess of speech. He is the provider of knowledge and wisdom. Describing Bhagwati Saraswati in the mythological text Rigveda, it has been said that she is the supreme consciousness. In the form of Saraswati, she is the protector of our intelligence, wisdom, and attitudes. Bhagwati Saraswati is the basis of our ethics and intelligence. Their richness and splendor of form are amazing.
Since ancient times, it is considered the birthday of Mother Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge and arts. On the day of Vasant Panchami, schools, colleges, students, and educationists worship Maa Sharde and pray to her to become more knowledgeable. By worshiping Mother Saraswati on the day of Basant Panchami, speech becomes sweet, the memory becomes sharp, animals get good fortune, and knowledge is gained. On this day, worship Bhagwati Gayatri decorated with all the ornaments wearing Veena, Akshamala, Kamandal, and book with Gandha, Akshat, white flower garland, white cloth, etc.

First of all, take a clean post, place a yellow cloth seat on it and install the idol of Mother Saraswati Devi and Lord Ganesha and decorate the mother with yellow flowers and wear yellow clothes. After that mothers should be worshiped by keeping yellow fruits, sweets, coconut, and paan. On the day of Basant Panchami, an intoxicating gaiety and joy were created in the entire nature. Everything looks yellow on this day and nature decorates the fields with yellow-golden color. Let us tell you that, the yellow color is considered a symbol of maturity. On this day food is also made yellow in homes.
