Varuthini Ekadashi…

At the time of the Satsang, a devotee asked Maharajji that, Maharajji has heard that observing the fast on Ekadashi, which falls in the month of Vaishakh, gives results equal to donating a girl child. Maharajji smiled after listening to the devotee and said smilingly… The auspicious and holy month of Vaishakh is going on. The description of this auspicious and sacred month is found in Puranas, as well as according to some beliefs, Tretayuga also started from this Vaishakh month. Devvriksha Vat is also worshiped on Amavasya of this month.

Valvyassumanjimaharaj says that the word Varuthini is derived from the Sanskrit word “varuthin” which means armor or rather protector. A detailed description of Varuthini Ekadashi is given in Padma Purana. According to the Puranas, this Ekadashi is considered an indicator of virtue and good fortune. Fasting on this Ekadashi is also called a symbol of happiness and good luck. Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Vaishakh month is called Varuthini Ekadashi and on this day the Varaha form of Lord Madhusudan is worshipped.

First of all, on the day of Ekadashi, you should wake up early in the morning and take a bath and take a vow of fasting. After that, the idol or picture of Lord Vishnu is established. After that incense, lamps, coconut, and flowers should be used to worship Lord Vishnu. In the end, meditate remembering the form of Lord Vishnu, and after that recite Vishnu Sahastranam and worship it methodically while reciting the story. Pay attention… Jagran must be done on the night of Ekadashi, on the second day of Dwadashi, this fast should be completed by donating food and Dakshina to Brahmins.

Story:-

It is a matter of ancient times that a king named Mandhata used to rule on the banks of river Narmada. Who was very ascetic and his charity was discussed far and wide. One day the king was doing penance in the forest, and a bear wandering from somewhere reached there and started chewing the king’s feet. But, the king remained engrossed in his penance as before. After some time, while chewing his feet, the bear dragged the king to the nearby forest. Seeing this, the king was very scared, but, according to Tapas Dharma, instead of anger and violence, he prayed to Lord Vishnu… and called Lord Vishnu with great compassion. Bhaktavatsal Lord Sri Vishnu appeared on hearing his call and killed the bear with his discus. The bear had already eaten the king’s leg. Seeing this, the king was very sad. Seeing the king sad, Lord Vishnu said – ‘O Vats! Don’t grieve You go to Mathura and worship my Varaha avatar by observing a fast on Varuthini Ekadashi. Due to its effect, you will become strong again. O son! What this bear has bitten you, it was the crime of your previous birth. Obeying God, the king went to Mathura and performed this fast with devotion, and with the effect of this fast, he soon again became beautiful and full of organs.

Result of Ekadashi: –

Ekadashi helps in achieving the ultimate goal of living beings, devotion to God. This day is considered very auspicious and fruitful to serve the Lord with full devotion. On this day, if a person frees himself from desires and does devotional service to God with a pure heart, then he definitely becomes blessed by God.
