भीष्म पितामह ने अर्जुन को 4 प्रकार से भोजन न करने के लिए बताया था. पहला भोजन जिस भोजन की थाली को कोई लांघ कर गया हो वह भोजन की थाली नाले में पड़े कीचड़ के समान होती है. दूसरा भोजन जिस भोजन की थाली में ठोकर लग गई,पाव लग गया वह भोजन की थाली भिष्टा के समान होता है. तीसरे प्रकार का भोजन जिस भोजन की थाली में बाल पड़ा हो, केश पड़ा हो वह दरिद्रता के समान होता है. चौथे नंबर का भोजन अगर पति और पत्नी एक ही थाली में भोजन कर रहे हो तो वह मदिरा के तुल्य होता है और सुनो अर्जुन, अगर पत्नी, पति के भोजन करने के बाद थाली में भोजन करती है उसी थाली में भोजन करती है या पति का बचा हुआ खाती है तो उसे चारों धाम के पुण्य का फल प्राप्त होता है चारों धाम के प्रसाद के तुल्य वह भोजन हो जाता है.
और सुनो अर्जुन बेटी अगर कुमारी हो और अपने पिता के साथ भोजन करती है एक ही थाली में तो उस पिता की कभी अकाल मृत्यु नहीं होती क्योंकि, बेटी पिता की अकाल मृत्यु को हर लेती है ! इसीलिए बेटी जब तक कुमारी रहे तो अपने पिता के साथ बैठकर भोजन करें ! क्योंकि वह अपने पिता की अकाल मृत्यु को हर लेती हैं.
संस्कार दिये बिना सुविधायें देना, पतन का कारण है सुविधाएं अगर आप ने बच्चों को नहीं दिए तो हो सकता है वह थोड़ी देर के लिए रोए पर संस्कार नहीं दिए तो वे जीवन भर रोएंगे.

Giving facilities without giving rituals is the reason for the downfall. If you do not give facilities to the children, then they may cry for a while but if they do not give rituals then they will cry for their whole life.
