Walvyassumanji Maharaj,

Mohini Ekadashi…

After the end of the satsang session, some devotees asked Maharajji that, Maharajji has heard that one who fasts on the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Baisakh, with the effect of that fast, the illusions and temptations of human life end.?

Walvyassumanji Maharaj,

Valvyassumanji Maharaj says that the windy and holy month of Baisakh is going on. The description of this holy month is found in the Puranas. According to Puranas, just as the month of Kartik is very pious, pious, and virtuous, in the same way, the month of Baisakh is windy and virtuous. This month started with the worship of Devvriksha Vat. Due to the chronology, today’s day is Baishakh Shukla Paksha Ekadashi and this Ekadashi is called Mohini Ekadashi. Maharajji says that this Ekadashi has been described in detail in the Avantika section of Skanda Purana.

Valvyassumanji Maharaj says that there is a description of the holy river Shipra in Skanda Purana. Shipra River is also one of the holy rivers and its origin is believed to be in the Janapav hills. The hills of Janapav are situated about 17 kilometers away from Mhow Cantonment of Madhya Pradesh. Maharajji says that this place is also considered to be the birthplace of Lord Parshuram, an incarnation of Lord Narayan. Mahakaleshwar, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas on the banks of this holy river, is also here. Kumbh (Ujjain) is also organized on the banks of the Shipra River. Walvyassumanji Maharaj says that due to taking Simhastha bath in this river, its importance increases even more.

Valvyassumanji Maharaj says that the belief is that Lord Vishnu assumed the form of Mohini only on the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Baisakh. According to the Puranas, during the churning of the ocean, many types of ingredients came out, one of them was nectar. There was a fight between the deities and the Asuras to get this nectar. Both parties became claimants of nectar. Ultimately, Lord Keshav assumed the form of Mohini and tied the Asuras in their trap, and by making the deities drink nectar, the deity attained immortality. Maharajji says that all these incidents took place on Baishakh Shukla Paksha Ekadashi, which is why Baishakh Shukla Paksha Ekadashi is also called Mohini Ekadashi.

Story:-

There was a beautiful city named Bhadravati on the banks of river Saraswati and the king of that city was Dhritiman who was born in Chandravansh and was truthful. In the same state, there lived a Vaishya whose name was Dhanapal and he had five sons. Dhanpal was full of wealth and also prosperous. He was always engaged in doing good deeds and was also an ardent devotee of Lord Keshav. Dhanpal always used to build pausla (pau), well, monasteries, gardens, ponds, and houses for others. The names of the five sons of Dhanpal are as follows: Sumana, Dyutiman, Medhavi, Sukrit, and Dhrishtabuddhi. The youngest son Dhrishtabuddhi used to do all those deeds according to his name. He was always involved in big sins, as well as he had a great attachment to gambling, etc. Dhrishtabuddhi was always eager to meet prostitutes and used to waste his father’s wealth by following the path of injustice.

One day his father got fed up and threw him out of the house and he started wandering door to door. Distraught with hunger and thirst, he wandered and reached the ashram of Maharishi Kaundinya and said with folded hands: ‘Brahmin! Dwijshrestha! Have mercy on me and tell me such a fast, due to the effect of which I can be freed. Kaundinya Rishi said that in the Shukla Paksha of Vaishakh, fast on Ekadashi, famous as ‘Mohini’. By observing Mohani Vrat, even the great sins like Mount Meru, committed by living beings in many births are destroyed (eliminated). Hearing this word of Muni, Dhrishtabuddhi’s mind became happy and according to the measures given by Muni, he observed Mohini Ekadashi fast, and due to the effect of fasting, Dhrishtabuddhi became sinless and wearing a divine body, mounted on Garuda, went to Sri Vishnudham, free from all kinds of troubles. Went. Reading and listening to it gives the fruit of a thousand cows.

Results of Ekadashi: –

Ekadashi helps in achieving the ultimate goal of living beings, devotion to God. This day is considered very auspicious and fruitful to serve the Lord with full devotion. On this day, if a person frees himself from desires and does devotional service to God with a pure heart, then he definitely becomes blessed by God.
