एक ऐसा पुल भी जिसके पास 1857 ई. मे तकरीबन ढाई सौ (250) क्रांतिकारियों को फांसी देकर शहीद कर दिया गया था बात पुल की हो रही है तो पीलीभीत कैसे पीछे रहे ये तस्वीर पीलीभीत की खकरा नदी पर आज से क़रीबन ढाई सौ साल पहले हाफ़िज़ रहमत खान साहब के बनवाये हुए पुल की है,वही हाफ़िज़ रहमत खान, जिन्होंने पीलीभीत के ऐतिहासिक जामा मस्जिद और गौरीशंकर मंदिर भी बनवाये हैं ये पुल शहर को चँदोई और तमाम गांवों से जोड़ने का आज भी मुख्य माध्यम है, और ढाई सौ साल गुज़रने के बाद भी आज भी ये पुल इस्तेमाल में है हालांकि मुद्दतों इसकी देखरेख नही हुई है, लेकिन हैरत है कि सदियों पहले न जाने किस तकनीक से मुगलों और रुहेलों ने इमारतें बनवाई थीं कि आज भी वो इमारतें टिकी हुई हैं,हर साल खकरा में खतरनाक बाढ़ का पानी आता है, हर साल बरसातों में नई बनी इमारतें ढह जाती हैं, लेकिन सदियों पहले बना ये पुल जर्जर होने केबावजूद टिका हुआ है1857 के सैंकड़ों शहीदों के खून का गवाह है ये पुल… 1857 की क्रांति में खान बहादुर खां साहब के नेतृत्व में रुहेलखंड की जहानाबाद तहसील में क्रन्तिकारियों ने अंग्रेजों का खज़ाना लूटने की योजना बनाई थी, लेकिन वो कामयाब न हो सके और गिरफ्तार कर लिए गएउस वक्त यहां का ब्रिटिश अधिकारी कार्मिशेल नैनीताल में था वो तुरंत पीलीभीत (तब के जहानाबाद) लौटकर आया और उसने जनता को डराकर क्रांति से दूर रखने के लिये इसी खकरा पुल के पास तकरीबन ढाई सौ (250) क्रांतिकारियों को फांसी देकर शहीद कर दिया था पीछे जिधर मज़ार दिख रही है उसी तरफ एक पुलिस चौकी बाद में उन शहीदों की याद में बनाई गई थी, और अब यहां शहीद स्मारक भी बनाया गया है !
