कामिका एकादशी…

सत्संग की समाप्ति के बाद कुछ भक्तों ने महाराजजी से पूछा कि, महाराजजी श्रावण माह के कृष्ण पक्ष की जो एकादशी होती है उस एकादशी के व्रत की महिमा व विधि के बारे में बताएं. महाराजजी सूना है कि, इस एकादशी का व्रत करने से पितरों के भी कष्ट दूर हो जाते हैं.

वालव्याससुमनजी महाराज कहते हैं कि, हिंदी वर्ष का पांचवें महीने को श्रावन का महीना कहा जाता है और इस महीने में काफी वर्षा होती है महाराजजी कहते है कि श्रवण नक्षत्र युक्त पूर्णिमा होने के कारण इसे श्रावण कहा जाता है. यह मास भगवान् शिव को अति प्रिय था. भूतों के प्रिय भूतेश्वरनाथ के महीने में एकादशी का महत्व और भी बढ़ जाता है. नारद महापुराण के अनुसार इस श्रावण माह के कृष्ण पक्ष की एकादशी का व्रत करने से नागों व गन्धर्वों सहित सभी की पूजा हो जाती है.

श्रावण माह के कृष्ण पक्ष की एकादशी को ही “ कामिका एकादशी “ कहा जाता है. महाराजजी कहते है कि इस व्रत के करने से जीवात्मा को पाप से मुक्ति मिलती है. यह एकादशी कष्टों को दूर करने वाला और मनोवांछित फल प्रदान करने वाला होता है. कामिका एकादशी व्रत में श्रीविष्णु भगवान  का उत्तम व्रत कहा गया है. कहा जाता है कि इस एकादशी की कथा श्रीकृष्ण ने धर्मराज युधिष्ठिर को सुनाई थी. इससे पूर्व राजा दिलीप को वशिष्ठ मुनि ने सुनायी थी जिसे सुनकर उन्हें पापों से मुक्ति एवं मोक्ष प्राप्त हुआ था.

पूजन सामाग्री :-

वेदी, कलश, सप्तधान, पंच पल्लव, रोली, गोपी चन्दन, गंगा जल, दूध, दही, गाय के घी का दीपक, सुपाड़ी, शहद, पंचामृत, मोगरे की अगरबत्ती, ऋतू फल, फुल, आंवला, अनार, लौंग, नारियल, नीबूं, नवैध, केला और तुलसी पत्र व मंजरी.

एकादशी व्रतविधि:-

एकादशी के दिन प्रातःकाल जागें, इसके बाद घर की साफ-सफाई तथा नित्य कर्म से निवृत्त होकर, स्नान कर पवित्र जल का घर में छिड़काव करें. घर के पूजन स्थल अथवा किसी भी पवित्र स्थल पर प्रभु श्री हरि विष्णु की सोने, चाँदी, तांबे अथवा पीतल की मूर्ति की स्थापना करें, उसके बाद उनका षोड्शोपचार सहित पूजन करें. इसके बाद भगवान विष्णु को पीतांबर आदि से विभूषित करें, तत्पश्चात व्रत कथा भी सुननी चाहिए, इसके बाद आरती कर प्रसाद वितरण करें. अंत में सफेद चादर से ढँके गद्दे-तकिए वाले पलंग पर श्री विष्णु को शयन कराना चाहिए. जो व्यक्ति इन चार महीनों के लिए अपनी रुचि अथवा अभीष्ट के अनुसार नित्य व्यवहार के पदार्थों का त्याग और ग्रहण करना चाहिए. देह शुद्धि या सुंदरता के लिए परिमित प्रमाण के पंचगव्य का, वंश वृद्धि के लिए नियमित दूध का, सर्वपापक्षयपूर्वक सकल पुण्य फल प्राप्त होने के लिए एकमुक्त, नक्तव्रत, अयाचित भोजन या सर्वथा उपवास करने का व्रत ग्रहण करना चाहिए.

पूजा-विधि :-

एकादशी के दिन स्नानादि से पवित्र होने के पश्चात संकल्प करके श्रीविष्णु के विग्रह की पूजन करना चाहिए. भगवान विष्णु को फूल, फल, तिल, दूध, पंचामृत आदि नाना पदार्थ निवेदित करके, आठों प्रहर निर्जल रहकर विष्णु जी के नाम का स्मरण एवं कीर्तन करना चाहिए. एकादशी व्रत में ब्राह्मण भोजन एवं दक्षिणा का बड़ा ही महत्व है अत: ब्राह्मण को भोजन करवाकर दक्षिणा सहित विदा करने के पश्चात ही भोजना ग्रहण करें. इस प्रकार जो कामिका एकादशी का व्रत रखता है, उसकी सभी कामनाएं पूर्ण हो जाती हैं.

व्रत कथा:-

प्राचीन काल में किसी गांव में एक ठाकुर थे. क्रोधी ठाकुर का एक ब्राह्मण से झगडा हो गया और क्रोध में आकर ठाकुर से ब्राह्मण का खून हो जाता है. अत: अपने अपराध की क्षमा याचना हेतु ब्राहमण की क्रिया उसने करनी चाहीए परन्तु, पंडितों ने उसे क्रिया में शामिल होने से मना कर दिया और वह ब्रहम हत्या का दोषी बन गया परिणाम स्वरुप ब्राह्मणों ने भोजन करने से इंकार कर दिया. तब उन्होने एक मुनि से निवेदन किया कि हे भगवान, मेरा पाप कैसे दूर हो सकता है. इस पर मुनि ने उसे कामिका एकाद्शी व्रत करने की प्रेरणा दी. ठाकुर ने वैसा ही किया जैसा मुनि ने उसे करने को कहा था. जब रात्रि में भगवान की मूर्ति के पास जब वह शयन कर रहा था. तभी उसे स्वपन में प्रभु दर्शन देते हैं और उसके पापों को दूर करके उसे क्षमा दान देते हैं.

महत्व:-

महाराजजी कहते है कि, कामिका एकादशी उत्तम फलों को प्रदान करने वाली होती है. इस एकादशी के दिन भगवान श्री कृ्ष्ण की पूजा करने से अमोघ फलों की प्राप्ति होती है. इस दिन तीर्थ स्थलों में विशेष स्नान दान करने की प्रथा भी रही है इस एकादशी का फल अश्वमेघ यज्ञ के समान होता है.  इस एकादशी का व्रत करने के लिये प्रात: स्नान करके भगवान श्रीविष्णु को भोग लगाना चाहिए. आचमन के पश्चात धूप, दीप, चन्दन आदि पदार्थों से आरती करनी चाहिए.

महाराजजी कहते है कि, कामिका एकादशी व्रत के दिन श्रीहरि का पूजन करने से व्यक्ति के पितरों के भी कष्ट दूर होते है. व्यक्ति पाप रूपी संसार से उभर कर, मोक्ष की प्राप्ति करने में समर्थ हो पाता है. नारद महापुराण के अनुसार, जो मनुष्य़ सावन माह में भगवान विष्णु की पूजा करता है, उसके द्वारा गंधर्वों और नागों सहित सभी की पूजा हो जाती है. लालमणी मोती, दूर्वा आदि से पूजा होने के बाद भी भगवान श्रीविष्णु उतने संतुष्ट नहीं होते, जितने की तुलसी पत्र से पूजा होने के बाद होते है. जो व्यक्ति तुलसी पत्र से केशव का पूजन करता है. उसके जन्म भर का पाप नष्ट होते है. इस एकादशी की कथा सुनने मात्र से ही यज्ञ करने समान फल प्राप्त होते है. कामिका एकादशी के व्रत में शंख, चक्र, गदाधारी श्रीविष्ण की पूजा होती है. जो मनुष्य इस एकाद्शी को धूप, दीप, नैवेद्ध आदि से भगवान श्री विष्णु जी कि पूजा करता है उस शुभ फलों की प्राप्ति होती है.

एकादशी का फल :-

एकादशी प्राणियों के परम लक्ष्य, भगवद भक्ति, को प्राप्त करने में सहायक होती है. यह दिन प्रभु की पूर्ण श्रद्धा से सेवा करने के लिए अति शुभकारी एवं फलदायक माना गया है. इस दिन व्यक्ति इच्छाओं से मुक्त हो कर यदि शुद्ध मन से भगवान की भक्तिमयी सेवा करता है तो वह अवश्य ही प्रभु की कृपापात्र बनता है.

Kamika Ekadashi…

After the end of the satsang, some devotees asked Maharajji that, Maharajji should tell about the glory and method of fasting on the Ekadashi of the Krishna Paksha of the month of Shravan. Maharajji has heard that by fasting on this Ekadashi, the sufferings of the ancestors also go away.

Walvyassumanji Maharaj says that the fifth month of the Hindi year is called the month of Shravan and it rains a lot in this month. This month was very dear to Lord Shiva. The importance of Ekadashi increases even more in the month of Bhuteshwarnath, the beloved of ghosts. According to Narad Mahapuran, by fasting on the Ekadashi of the Krishna Paksha of this month of Shravan, everyone is worshipped, including snakes and Gandharvas.

The Ekadashi of the Krishna Paksha of the month of Shravan is called “Kamika Ekadashi”. Maharajji says that by observing this fast, the soul gets freedom from sin. This Ekadashi is the remover of troubles and the one who gives desired results. Kamika Ekadashi Vrat has been said to be the best Vrat of Lord Vishnu. It is said that the story of this Ekadashi was narrated by Shri Krishna to Dharmaraj Yudhishthira. Before this King Dilip was told by Vashishtha Muni, listening to which he got freedom from sins and salvation.

Worship material: –

Vedi, Kalash, Saptadhan, Panch Pallav, Roli, Gopi Chandan, Ganges water, milk, curd, the lamp of cow’s ghee, betel nut, honey, panchamrit, incense sticks of mogre, seasonal fruits, flowers, amla, pomegranate, cloves, coconut, Lemon, illegal, banana and basil leaves and manjari.

Ekadashi fasting: –

Wake up early in the morning on the day of Ekadashi, after cleaning the house and retiring from daily work, take a bath, and sprinkle holy water in the house. Establish gold, silver, copper, or brass idol of Lord Shri Hari Vishnu at the worship place of the house or any holy place, then worship it with Shodshopachar. After this, worship Lord Vishnu with Pitambar, etc., and after the fasting, a story should also be heard, after that distribute Prasad by performing Aarti. In the end, Shri Vishnu should be made to sleep on a bed with a mattress and pillow covered with a white sheet. The person for these four months should sacrifice and accept the substances of daily behavior according to his interest or desire. For purification of the body or for beauty, Panchgavya of limited proof, regular milk for progeny growth, one free, fasting, non-observable food, or complete fasting should be observed in order to get the fruit of all good deeds.

Worship method: –

On the day of Ekadashi, after getting purified by bathing, one should worship the Deity of Shri Vishnu by making a resolution. By offering flowers, fruits, sesame seeds, milk, panchamrit, etc. to Lord Vishnu, remembering and chanting the name of Vishnu ji should remain waterless for eight hours. Brahmin food and Dakshina are very important in Ekadashi fast, so take food only after sending the Brahmin away with Dakshina after feeding them. In this way, the one who fasts on Kamika Ekadashi, all his wishes are fulfilled.

Fast story: –

In ancient times there was a Thakur in a village. An angry Thakur got into a fight with a Brahmin and in anger, the Thakur killed the Brahmin. Therefore, to apologize for his crime, he should have performed the action of a Brahmin, but the pundits refused him to participate in the action and he became guilty of killing a Brahmin. As a result, the Brahmins refused to eat. Then he requested a sage that oh God, how can my sin be removed? On this, the sage inspired him to observe Kamika Ekadashi fast. Thakur did as Muni had asked him to do. When he was sleeping near the idol of God at night. Only then the Lord appears to him in his dreams and removes his sins and grants him forgiveness.

Importance:-

Maharajji says that Kamika Ekadashi is the one that bestows fruits. Worshiping Lord Shri Krishna on this Ekadashi gives immense fruits. On this day, there is a practice of donating special baths in pilgrimage places. The result of this Ekadashi is similar to Ashwamedh Yagya. To fast on this Ekadashi, one should take a bath in the morning and offer food to Lord Vishnu. After Aachaman, Aarti should be performed with incense, lamp, sandalwood, etc.

Maharajji says that by worshiping Shri Hari on the day of Kamika Ekadashi fast, the sufferings of a person’s ancestors also go away. A person emerges from the sinful world and becomes able to attain salvation. According to Narad Mahapuran, the man who worships Lord Vishnu in the month of Sawan, everyone including Gandharvas and serpents is worshiped by him. Even after worshiping with red pearls, Durva, etc., Lord Vishnu is not as satisfied as he is after worshiping with Tulsi leaves. The person who worships Keshav with Tulsi leaf. The sins of his whole life are destroyed. Just by listening to the story of this Ekadashi, you get the same results as performing a Yagya. In the fast of Kamika Ekadashi, Shankh, Chakra, and Gadadhari Sri Vishnu is worshipped. The person who worships Lord Shri Vishnu on this Ekadashi with incense, lamps, offerings, etc., gets auspicious results.

Results of Ekadashi: –

Ekadashi helps in achieving the ultimate goal of living beings, devotion to God. This day is considered very auspicious and fruitful to serve the Lord with full devotion. On this day, if a person frees himself from desires and does devotional service to God with a pure heart, then he definitely becomes blessed by God.
