Soul of Universe…

।। Om Hreem Hreem Hraun Sa: Surya Namah।।

Life on this earth is possible only because of the Sun, this is today’s real truth. Since the Vedic period, the Aryans considered the Sun to be the creator of the entire universe. The meaning of the word Surya is “all inspiration, all illuminator, all originator” as well as all welfare. According to the Hindu religious text Rigveda, the gods have given an important place to the Sun, whereas, according to the Yajurveda, Chaksho Suryo Jayat i.e. the “Sun” has been considered the eye of God, while according to the Brahmavairvat Purana, the “Sun” has been described as the divine form. Is. According to Suryopanishad, “Sun” has been said to be the only reason for the origin of the entire world, and also according to a Shruti, the entire world is created and maintained by the Sun. It is said that in the Vedic period, the Sun was worshipped through mantras, after that idol worship became prevalent and temples were also built. According to Bhavishya Purana, the dialogue between Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu talks about Sun worship and temple construction. It is said that Shri Krishna’s son Samb, who was suffering from leprosy due to the curse of sage Durvasa, got relief from this terrible disease by worshipping the Sun. Apart from Vedic literature, the importance of The Sun has also been mentioned in Ayurveda, Astrology and Palmistry.

In ancient times, many temples of Lord Surya were built, which present a wonderful example of art in the present time and are also world famous. According to Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran, Shri Shukdevji Maharaj says—O King! There is the space world in between the Earth and the Devlok, in the Devlok itself, Lord Surya resides in the middle of the stars and illuminates all three worlds. Due to traveling through three routes namely Uttarayan, Dakshinayan and Vishwat, the days and nights are shorter, longer and at the same speed on the Tropics of Cancer, Capricorn and Tropics of Capricorn. According to astrology, when Lord Surya resides in Aries and Libra, day and night are equal, whereas, when he resides in Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo and Virgo, respectively, the night increases by one hour in each month. However, when the Sun is in Scorpio, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces and Aries, the day increases by one hour per month and the night becomes shorter.

Shri Shukdevji Maharaj says—O King! The path of the Sun’s revolution is fifty-one lakh yojanas on Mount Manasottara, while on the east side of Mount Meru is Indrapuri, on the south side is Yampuri, on the west side is Varunpuri, and on the north side is Chandrapuri. The Sun revolves around Mount Meru, hence in these Puri it is sometimes day, sometimes night, sometimes midday and sometimes midnight. Lord Surya is seen setting right in front of the Puri in which he rises or in other words, it is seen right in front of the Puri where it is noon and it is midnight. Shri Shukdevji Maharaj says that the movement of Lord Surya is a little more than 125 crore 125 lakh yojanas in fifteen hours and the moon and other constellations also keep moving along with it. Let us tell you that the chariot of Lord Surya moves thirty-four lakh eight hundred yojanas in one muhurta (two hours). Also, the wheel of this chariot is called Samvatsar, which has twelve arays (months), six names, six seasons and three chaumasas. It is said that one axis of this chariot is situated on Mount Manasottara and the other end is situated on Mount Meru.

According to Valvyassumanji Maharaj, if Lord Vishwaroop (Sun) is worshiped with Gayatri Mantra, it gives best results to the seeker. If the devotee offers Arghya to Lord Vishwaroop every day at the time of sunrise by adding water, stone, red flower, sweet, achhat and red chilli seeds in a copper vessel while reciting Surya Mantra, then Lord Surya provides best results to the devotee. If the direct deity of Hindu religion is worshiped with mantras, then Lord Sun becomes pleased and provides the best food.
